Sydney’s Talons will release their self-titled debut LP at the end of May.
The follow-up to their first EP Ducats, which was recorded in 2007 “before they'd barely begun playing together”, Talons will be out through Rice Is Nice on May 30.
The album was recorded over a month-and-a-half period in contrasting surroundings – from Sydney’s 301 studios to friends' hallways, bedrooms and kitchens. Rather than stripping back, the band fleshed out their sound with clarinets, stylophones, violins, “deranged” choirs and a variety of other instruments. It was produced by Tim Carr, who has played a hand in records by Dead China Doll and Ohana.
First single ‘Keys And Codes’ is currently doing the radio rounds.
