Essential Fest Finds New Home

Sydney’s Essential festival is on the move in 2009.
For the past three years, the event has been held across three venues in Surry Hills – The Gaelic Theatre, Four Provinces and The Madison Hotel. But an increase in demand for tickets will see the day-long event shift to Oxford Street, Darlinghurst, for the first time.
Essential will now take place over six spaces – Oxford Art Factory, Oxford Art Factory gallery room, Spectrum, 34B, Vegas Bar and QBar – on April 25 from 3pm to 11pm.
Bands performing include Dappled Cities, theredsunband, Young & Restless, Belles Will Ring, The Holidays, Cloud Control, Spod, The E.L.F, Tennis, The Jazabels, Flying Foxes, Pork Pies and Sherlocks Daughter. The first 200 people through the doors on the day receive a special edition Essential CD, which may or may not feature the aforementioned acts.
