My Disco Tour Theft

Just two weeks into their three-month overseas jaunt, My Disco have hit an early snag. Two bags were stolen from backstage at the band’s show at Sneaky Dee’s in Toronto on March 27 – the first containing the band’s MacBook; the second, a passport and some other electronic goods.

“We're in a difficult situation without it,” said the band in a newsletter to fans. “Please get in touch if someone knows something, we need that passport to continue this tour.”

The tour, which began in San Francisco on March 13 and included dates at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, will wind its way through North America, and end in Europe (passport permitting) with a performance in Moscow on May 14.

You might want to reconsider that date, editors.

Also, Sneaky Dee's is the kind of place I can imagine getting my shit stolen at. Fun bar, though.

May have to cancel a few gigs... temporary passports cost a heap to get processed in a few days, but SXSW is worth it. believe me, Ive lost two on tour!

depends when the SXSW dates are from now, when are they? Hopefully its not like in a few days...

I was on tour with a band and a passport was lost - unfortunately this wasn't discovered until we were just about to board a ferry from the UK to the Netherlands - she had to get a train back to London and miss one of the shows whilst she waited to get a replacement passport which took two days. It was a US passport mind you, and maybe the US consulate is much faster than the Australian consulate in getting these things sorted.

Anyway, hope this gets sorted because my friends are putting on their show in Glasgow and I was really looking forward to it.
