Beaches Take A Break

Related: Beaches.
After festival spots, $30,000 music prize nominations, relentless touring in support of their self-titled debut and dozens of salivating reviews, Beaches’ extraordinary run of form was always going to wind down.
The band will play their “last show in aaaaaages” tonight (March 27) at The Tote in their hometown of Melbourne with supports by The Ancients and twee-pop four-piece The Twerps.
No word on what the ladies will be getting up to in the “off-season”, but given their other projects – their members hail from Love of Diagrams, Panel of Judges and Spider Vomit – we’re pretty sure they won’t be bored.

isn't alison going overseas?
Have just heard this album live at near ear-splitting sound levels in the intimate setting of the Milton Theatre (the best live venue on the NSW south coast, AKA good vibe centre of the universe). These guys are genuine sound artists and they have all been around long enough to have a connoisseur's appreciation of the genres they so skillfully mix and match. Early 60s Atlantics, late 60s acid rock, and a dash of Charles Bronson, all supercharged with high octane rocket fuel and pumped out till the whole building shakes. The ex-Oils are so much better without that hairless frontman. The instruments are the true stars. Beautiful noise.
fucking hilllllaaarrrrriiiioooouuss!!!!!
Christ you're an inbred bloody hayseed, 'phoney.
