Mercy Arms ‘Will Continue’

The tumultuous career of Sydney’s Mercy Arms has taken another twist with their management dismissing rumours the band have split.

The rumours were sparked by a mysterious Wikipedia entry claiming, among other things, that the band broke up in February due to “creative differences” (yes, that old chestnut) after appearances at the Big Day Out.

But, speaking to Mess+Noise today, Mercy Arms’ manager Todd Wagstaff described the Wikipedia entry as mere gossip posted by an “unknown”. The past few months have seen “the usual dramas and the guys playing in lots of other projects,” he said, “but Mercy Arms will continue when it’s ready”.

The band’s last performance was at the Big Day Out in Perth on February 1.

I suspect that Waggy and the band might see this issue differently...

Anyway, I hope they do keep playing.

Pretty sure the bad news is true. I spoke to Sudek briefly on Friday and he said yeah they had split.

They have split. Never believe the management.

Waggy's playing dumb. That is becoming clear.
