A Month Of Angie

Angie Hart will rack up the frequent flyer points when she plays month-long residencies in both Melbourne and Sydney in May.

Hart, best known for her work with ’90s indie-pop four-piece Frente, will jet back and forth between both cities twice a week. She will perform at the Toff in Town in Melbourne’s CBD on Tuesdays and at The Sandringham Hotel in Newtown on Wednesdays.

After performing two reunion shows with Frente as part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival, Hart has been busy writing material for her next album – the follow-up to 2007’s The Grounded Bird – working with luminaries such as Mark Seymour, Cam Butler (Silver Ray) and Geoff O’Connor (Crayon Fields/Sly Hats).

Supports include Guy Blackman, Eva Popov, Melanie Horsnell and Hart’s new outfit Holidays On Ice. Tickets: $12 on the door.

she's pressing buttons on something.

alistairw  said about 2 years ago:

Sounds like she's got some good supports there. Sui Zhen is awesome. Also kinda curious to hear the new album, given who she's working with.

I didn't think I'd say that after hearing the last one.

Ohyeah  said about 2 years ago:

she looks great!

will certainly avoid the sui zhen show though. blergh.

tinyman  said about 2 years ago:

i plan to be there. don't know how many times does one need to see the same show though?

what? she looks like shit in that pic. is that supposed to be how she'll look with jet lag, after all that jetting back and forth?

WHO GIVES A FUCK HOW SHE LOOKS

tinyman  said about 2 years ago:

jet? what? too fancy for a 1989 Tarago?

but really, in this environmentally conscious days, she should just youtube her performances from her garage.

Ohyeah  said about 2 years ago:

as in she looks well, last pic i saw of her she was gaunt and malnourished.

Modi  said about 2 years ago:

Can't get Jetlag on a north/south route. She looks better when she smiles.

I think I'm missing something. I thought the EP was pretty good, myself.

Ohyeah  said about 2 years ago:

terrible terrible whingy whiny girlie nonsense.

Ohyeah  said about 2 years ago:

my personal opinion naturally.

alistairw  said about 2 years ago:

Fair call. I liked it, but then, I like terrible terrible whingy whiny girlie nonsense as a general rule, so that might explain it.

tinyman  said about 2 years ago:

i'm also like whiny girlie stuff and i like Sui Zhen too.

suizhen  said about 2 years ago:

Hey Ohyeah, I recall you saying you'd rather stab yourself in the eye than see me play... so when do I get to see this happen?

aloha  said about 2 years ago:

it's ok sui zhen, i like you too.

suizhen  said about 2 years ago:

heh, I think it's funny

Goal attack  said about 2 years ago:

I'd be angrier at Dave McCormack for that lousy portrait than oyeah.

tinyman  said about 2 years ago:

starts this week. something fun to do on a weekday. i'd like to go, if i can get myself organised enough.

tinyman  said about 2 years ago:

well, that was nice. short, simple, new songs, unfinished songs. loud reggae downstairs.

belachan  said about 2 years ago:

I went to the show with Sui Zhen supporting!
It was great, she has a new three piece band double bass and percussion. Compliments her voice

Angie's set was lovely too, like stepping back in time. her voice is strong but her lyrics are kind of dark and hopeful seems like she's had an interesting life... She was nice to chat to afterwards as well. So great to finally hear the songs I have known for SO LONG.

great night
cept the loud dude downstairs!!!
