Paul Kelly will headline an inaugural Easter festival in the Victorian goldrush town of Bendigo in April.
Kelly, along with Augie March, Tim Rogers, Charlie Owen and James Cruickshank, Tex Perkins and new alt-country outfit Matheson (not to be confused with this guy), will perform at the first annual Bendigo Easter Festival at the Tom Flood Arena on April 11. The event will run in tandem with the usual Easter festivities in the town, about 130 kilometres north-west of Melbourne.
Cost for the licensed, all-ages event is $55 (plus booking fees), with a portion of the money raised going towards local bushfire relief.

to listen to their music now on
I'm dissapointed that they're not playing at ''The Pub''.
They only play Triple J there
I'm sure one of the bands will find a way to do an 18+ show there. Or The Newmarket. They're both reputable establishments.
One day I will go to this ''Pub''. And I will enjoy it.
No, Frankie...you won't. I havn't been there in a while, but last time I went it was like a social mixer for 18-20 year old goths and new old metal kids.
I don't think I am allowed in there anymore, mainly because someone from Bendigo I have made mad will beat the shit out of me or I will trip on the remains of a dim sim left from the glowing cloakroom meat heater.
THE PUB.
I doubt they'll do any shows at the Pub, short drive from Melbourne. Cruise down saturday afternoon, devour some coke. Play some tunes.
Also, is why has Paul Kelly not been playing with a full band lately.
HEY! I've played the Newmarket. Fun place.
Pity the VIne's turned to shit. Loved that pub I did.
It's gone through so many different hands. When they had the two gorgeous barmaids was when it peaked for me. Of course, at 24, I'm a relative young'n.
The Vine always had that turn to shit factor and it was always the same thing.
There would be the group of 21+ers' that would get bombarded with the new shit uni students and 18 year olds. ''It's not the same man, it used to be cool,'' little did they realise that they were once the fuckhead 18 year olds and the new breed will soon become the fogies.
Circle of life.
Man I saw the hot barmaids at golden plains, still destroying it. Except I think one of the tough boyfriends was getting a bit mad as one of them was mungaloring on pills and touching my shoulder a lot. He was obviously on ice and ready for a smashinnnnnnnnn.
Good peak on all accounts.
Some things never change. Even their mum was kinda fit, for an old bird. Now, shut up. If we keep talking on here we'll have nothing to talk about over lunch. See you in 38 minutes.
I think I must know you guys.
WHO R U?
Who are you?
Touche.
You am I?
whats 'groovin the moo' and why are the drones playing there?
Money?
For some reason the Bendigo council seems to have a bunch of money they are willing to toss around.
They usually just pick really shit bands to use it on.
I must go to this.
I am thinking about it, to see my knee reconstructed brother and whatever new contraption my Dad has built for catching Witchety Grubs
My parents want me back for Easter, too. I didn't know that there were Wichity grubs in Bendigo.
im gonna go to this i reckon if i can find out what time the acts are on.............
Does Bendigo suffer from collective insomnia? This festival will be their cure.
I went along to this, it was a pretty small turnout so I figure the 'first annual' may be the last as well.
It also seemed like they were putting sound through the speakers at the back of the sports centre which made a rather disconcerting echo effect through the whole gig if you were in the drinking section.
Other than that, good times had.
