Forget Wolfmother, It’s Time To Boogie

Ever wondered what happened to Chris Ross and Myles Heskett, the founding members and rhythmic backbone of Wolfmother (yes, it wasn’t just an Andy Stockdale solo thing)?

Well, the pair have put together a new outfit with Charge Group’s Matt Blackman called Palace of Fire. Described as a “primal blend of dark invocations and ceremonious, melodic, heavy rock”, the band will play their first shows in Victoria at the Boogie Festival in Tallarook.

Now in its third year, Boogie is a boutique camping music festival located at Bruzzy's Farm, just over an hour from the Melbourne. If you thought Golden Plains was intimate, Boogie tickets are capped at 500. This year’s line-up features Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Tony Joe White, Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys), Even and Holly Throsby.

Ticket are $145 and available from www.boogie.net.au.

so they're going for a real departure from the Wolfmother sound, then?

$145, get real.

The new Wolfmother line-up sound pretty good. Guess Andrew Stockdale is the genius behind it all.

intruder  said about 2 years ago:

I reckon the quality of this will surprise a lot of people. The Wolfmother sound was always fairly incogruous with what those guys were actually into.

Or maybe it'll be a boring retread of what went on before. Will be interesting, regardless.

BOOGIE's point of difference are the little touches we do to ensure we can live by our motto....''Shake It Loose Together''. We do this through happy hour cocktails, incredible food selections, and providing an ambient atmosphere of warmth, love and party friendship.

Anyone reckon it'll be over by about 11:15?

Trying to choose between bus and train.

losgauchos  said about 2 years ago:

Drummer and bass player writing the songs? This can only be a trainwreck...

Marcus  said about 2 years ago:

Anything with Matt Blackman involved automatically insures it against being a trainwreck.
