A stint at a fancy school in Paris can do strange, grandiose things to you. Just ask former Gersey frontman Matt Davis, who is releasing a new solo disc in February.
Here Their Dreams, the debut album for Davis’ new solo project Bombazine Black, is a collection of predominantly instrumental tracks written during an artistic residency at the renowned Cité Internationale des Récollets.
Pieced together in Davis’ new abode – a converted 16th century convent in Paris (ooh la la) – Here Their Dreams features the sounds of Paris’ streetscapes, minimalist guitar lines and snatches of Dylan Thomas poetry. Guests on the album include Toby Martin (Youth Group), Miles Browne (Art Of Fighting), Martin Cooke (Gaslight Radio) and Daryl Bradie and Danny Tulen (Gersey).
Here Their Dreams will be released on limited-edition, hand-numbered digipak through Inertia on February 28.
