Enduring Melbourne venue The Hi-Fi is set to open a Brisbane outpost in 2009. The Hi-Fi will reportedly refurbish a multi-level pub situated in the riverside suburb of West End.
"We have been running the iconic The Hi-Fi in Melbourne for over 10 years now and like all Mexicans we're are looking for any excuse to get well up north of the border," read a statement on the venue's website.
"Our pledge is great live music and an insane amount of rhythmical largesse."
Situated on Swanston Street in Melbourne's CBD, The Hi-Fi will play host to several big-name international acts in early 2009 including Spirtualized, Of Montreal and TV on the Radio. In a recent interview with Mess+Noise, Christian Livingstone from The Datsuns described The Hi-Fi as his favourite Australian venue.
"It's a great venue, everyone can see, the sound's great, the vibe's always great," he said.

can't comment on reviews, so here will do.
was a good review, sounds like a fun yet bizarre night, here's hoping the room can find it vibe.
sounds like the first night Home Nightclub had live music.
Colour me stupid, but why did they have to import Melbourne bands to launch a Brisbane venue?
Judging by the review, Brisbanites felt the same. I have to say, I agree.
