The Avalanches Back With Album #2?

Just when you thought Since I Left You was going to become their Loveless, The Avalanches have confirmed that they are well on their way to finishing album number two.
According to the band’s MySpace page, the band are “putting the finishing touches” on their sophomore release, a mere eight years after completing their widely heralded debut.
"After many, many moons and several years that have passed by and several promises of getting a new album I've been assured that on Christmas Day they're going to deliver their new album to my little grotty hands," Pav told listeners.
Apparently the band had scrapped two or three albums along the way, but have finally got a bunch of tracks together that they’re happy with.
"I think they some ideas about doing different kind of things and maybe taking a different direction and at some point along the way they just went well, who are we fooling. Let's just make an Avalanches record," Pav said.
No word on a release date, however, so we’ll believe it when we see it.
