Dubbo’s finest musical exports The Reels are among the last few Australian acts confirmed for this year’s Big Day Out. The Reels, who had a string of hits in the ’80s with singles ‘Love Will Find A Way’ and ‘Prefab Heart’, will perform at the Sydney and Melbourne legs of the festival only.
Organisers have also confirmed the return of Regurgitator frontman Quan, who will perform his own blend of “indie, hip-hop and electro pop” (and that’s different to Regurgitator how?) to audiences Australia-wide. He will be joined by fellow Brisbanites I Heart Hiroshima, who will play in Sydney and the Gold Coast only.
In Melbourne, Rocket Science, My Disco, Beaches and The Vandas have been added to the bill.
Next year’s BDO will be held at the Gold Coast Parklands on January 18, the Sydney Showground on January 23, Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse on January 26, the Adelaide Showground on January 30 and at Perth’s Claremont Showground on February 1.
