Crayon Fields have released the first taste from their forthcoming LP, All The Pleasures Of The World, in the form of 7” single, ‘Mirror Ball’.
A notable step-up in production from previous efforts, the single has already received a glowing review from US indie barometer Pitchfork who called it “the kind of soaring love song Doris Troy might have belted out for Atlantic in the early 1960s”. It’s backed by ‘How Loved You Are’, a neat little pop jingle recorded especially for the 7”.
‘Mirror Ball’ is the band's first release since their 2006 debut Animal Bells, which polled second in Mess+Noise’s critics poll. To celebrate its release, Crayon Fields will be touring throughout December with “a small string section, a garbage bag full of plastic flowers and some of their favourite bands”. All The Pleasures Of The World is due out in March.
