Upon its release in April 1977 it was as good as ignored. It received no commercial radio play and didn’t chart. But The Saints’ (I'm) Stranded has, over the years, become regarded as an important protopunk document. In the words of Nick Cave, it’s the “most important Australian album ever made".

The Saints — Ed Kuepper, Chris Bailey, Ivor Hay, Archie Larizza — will recreate the album (all 32 minutes of white noise, punk snarl and songwriting smarts) in two “Don't Look Back” performances.

The first will take place at Melbourne's Forum Theatre on January 14 with legendary punk outfit X, who will perform their classic second album At Home With You (1985). The second sees The Saints returning to their hometown of Brisbane, appearing as special guests of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds at All Tomorrow’s Parties on the Brisbane Riverstage on January 15.

Completing the second season of Don’t Look Back, The Dirty Three will perform their fourth album, Ocean Songs, also at ATP on January 9 at the Mt Buller Ski Resort.
