Melbourne’s Devastations (or is now Europe’s Devastations?) will be back in Australia for one show only. The trio will perform at the East Brunswick Club in their “hometown” on February 6.
Following the release of their third album Yes, U — Mess+Noise’s album of the yearfor 2007 — the band embarked on a five-month tour of Europe before heading back to Australia earlier this year. They later returned to Europe for another tour with Blonde Redhead.
The band recently collaborated with Blonde Redhead for an AIDS benefit compilation, Dark Was the Night, curated by Aaron and Bryce Dessner from The National. The CD, which will be released in February through 4AD, sees Blonde Redhead's Kazu adding vocals to the instrumental track ‘Misericordia’ from Yes, U.
Conrad has also provided a song for Alan Vega from Suicide’s 70th birthday EP series.
