The third annual AIR Awards will be held at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne on Monday November 24. Presented by the Australian Independent Record Labels Association, the awards are based on sales, and eligibility is limited to those who fit three criteria – Australian artists on Australian-owned labels which are also distributed by Australian-owned companies.
Those up for awards this year include Little Red, Birds of Tokyo and Magic Dirt. A select group of nominees including the Drones, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Lior and Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu will be performing live during the presentation.
If you fancy rubbing shoulders with some street-level music giants, limited tickets are available from the Corner box office in advance and also on the night (if not already sold out).
