As the summer festival season fast approaches, more acts have been announced for next year’s All Tomorrow’s Parties (ATP) and Big Day Out (BDO) festivals.
ATP curator and rock icon Nick Cave has added a smattering of Australian acts including The Small Knives, The Reels, The Dirty Three, The Holy Sea, Hunter Dienna and one-man band Passenger of Shit to the Mt Buller leg of the tri-state festival.
With on-site accommodation at Mt Buller all but sold out, organisers have also listed a range of off-site options on the ATP website. ATP will take place from January 9-10 at Mt Buller, Victoria; January 12-16 at The Powerhouse/Brisbane Riverside in QLD; and in conjunction with Sydney Festival from January 17-18 at Cockatoo Island, NSW.
Meanwhile, the recently reformed Died Pretty will return to the BDO stage after a 17-year absence. Other Australian acts confirmed in the BDO’s second announcement include The Vines, Children Collide, Sparkadia, Little Red, Mercy Arms and The Drones.
Next year’s BDO will be held at the Gold Coast Parklands on January 18, the Sydney Showground on January 23, Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse on January 26, the Adelaide Showground on January 30 and at Perth’s Claremont Showground on February 1.
