Laneway First For Perth

From a dank alley in Melbourne’s CBD, the St Jerome's Laneway Festival sure has come a long way. And in 2009, the festival will expand even further, heading to Perth for the first time.
Though it may not resemble a laneway (a semantic argument, really), The Perth Cultural Centre – an urban space “right in the soul of Perth city” – will play host to the annual event when it winds its way west on February 6.
In Brisbane, the festival will move to Alexandria Street off St Paul's Terrace in Fortitude Valley, while Melbourne’s Laneway will resemble more of a block party, taking in the QV building on Little Lonsdale Street. Festival-goers in Adelaide and Sydney can look forward to returning to the original sites of Fowlers Live and Circular Quay, respectively.
Australian acts confirmed for the festival include Architecture in Helsinki, The Drones, Tame Impala, The Temper Trap, John Steel Singers, Pivot, Holly Throsby and Mountains in the Sky.
Tickets on sale October 27.
