Eddy Misses Out on ARIA, While Presets Scoop Three

They came, they saw, they walked away empty handed. Eddy Current Suppression Ring may have been the biggest underdogs at this year’s ARIA awards, but unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your perspective) it wasn’t enough to land them the gong for best rock album. That “honour” went to The Living End for their fifth album, White Noise.

Big winners on the night included teenage pop singer Gabriella Cilmi (six including best female artist) and Sydney indie-dance duo The Presets, who landed three awards including album of the year.

The Midnight Juggernauts and Cut Copy missed out on awards in their respective categories.
