The Basics are going back to the future for their new release.
The Melbourne trio, also known as Gotye’s other band, will re-package, re-issue and re-master their little-known 2002 debut, Get Back, as a “hors d'oeuvres of sorts” for some upcoming new releases. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered in six days well before Gotye became a household name.
To celebrate the August 2 re-issue, The Basics will hit the road for a tri-state tour which will include month-long residences at the Hopetoun Hotel (Sydney) and The Evelyn Hotel (Melbourne), as well as two shows in Queensland.
