Ooga Boogas Off To Memphis

Melbourne’s “Doors-lite” supergroup The Ooga Boogas will be heading to Memphis in September for Gonerfest.

The four-piece, with members from The Sailors, The Onyas, Eddy Current Suppression Ring and a drummer who’s big in Japan, were the only Australian band announced for the four-day festival, now in its fifth year.

The band will play alongside Sic Alps, The Tearjerkers, Crusaders Of Love (Belgium), Barbaras, Psychedelic Horseshit and a host of other local and international acts.

The Ooga Boogas recently recorded their debut album, Romance and Adventure, near Mansfield in rural Victoria. Described as a “rollicking concept album filled to the brim with tales of gash and hijinks” it’s set for release on Aarght! in August.
