Return of The Rectifiers

Related: The Rectifiers.
They’ve done the alt-country thing. They’ve dabbled in electronica. But for their next incarnation, Melbourne’s The Rectifiers (minus three members) are tackling widescreen psych-pop (think The Beatles, Olivia Tremor Control and Beck … on acid).
Five years in the making, Playtime for John Mountain -- the band’s third album -- will be released in August through Sensory Projects/Inertia. Recorded in the band’s inner-Melbourne studio, the album -- the follow-up to the underrated Wear The Weight Of The Resting Sky -- has been described as the band’s “most ambitious release to date”. After half a decade, were you expecting anything less?
