From humble beginnings, the Essential Festival – now in its third year – will make its Melbourne debut with one of its strongest line-ups yet.
Joining headliners, resurgent Brisbane four-piece Regurgitator, will be Brooklyn electro outfit Ratatat and New Zealand’s The Shocking Pinks – the first international acts to play an Essential fest.
Other acts confirmed for Melbourne and Sydney include Dardanelles, the E.L.F, Grafton Primary, the Devoted Few, Gaslight Radio (duo), the Seabellies and the Silents.
Once again, the Essential Festival will take place in Sydney across three venue spaces – The Gaelic Theatre, Gaelic Club (upstairs) and The Madison Hotel in Surry Hills for the quiet acoustic stuff. In Melbourne, all action will take place at The Esplanade Hotel, a three-venue venue in its own right.
