Like an authentic bolognaise -- made the old-fashioned way with passata di pomodoro, red wine and two kinds of ground meat – Melbourne rock’n’roll stalwarts Even get better with age.
Four albums, a ‘best of’ and 14 years into the piece, the band will launch their self-titled fifth LP – their “best record ever” – at the East Brunswick Club on April 24 before hitting the road for dates in Wollongong, Sydney, Geelong, Ballarat and Adelaide.
Two years in the making – because “Rome wasn't built in a recording studio over a mere three to four weeks” – the album was recorded with the Wayne Connolly, Craig Pilkington and John Roberto. There’s even a guest appearance from The Dandy Warhols’ Peter Loew (nee Holmstrom).
In typical tongue-in-cheek fashion, Even describe the release as “an Australian masterwork destined to free minds, inspire musicians and pull roots”. Lock up your mothers …
