If Craig Nichols’ disappearing waistline is any indication, the Vines are back, baby.
The Sydney four-piece will release their long-awaited new single, ‘He’s a Rocker’, in June, with their forthcoming LP, Brain Dead – the band’s fourth – to hit stores in July.
The song, presumably about someone other than Nichols, debuted at music industry wankfest SXSW in Austin, Texas, with Australian audiences getting a taste of the track at the Golden Plains Music Festival in March.
Completed in Los Angeles in November, Brain Dead will be released independently in Australia through Ivy League while the band hunts feverishly for an international deal.
Amazingly, EMI/Capitol will release a ‘best of’ around the same time as Brain Dead hits the shelves. The ‘best of’ will draw on the band’s extensive back catalogue of three albums.
