OUCH! Children Collide With Universal

After months of self-imposed hiatus, Melbourne’s Children Collide has emerged from their bunkers with news that they’ve signed with Universal Music (and possibly also cut their hair).

Once darlings of Melbourne’s independent music scene, the trio are now label mates with the likes of Fergie, Bon Jovi, Rihanna, Queens of the Stone Age, Cut Copy, Matt Costa (who?) and Janet Jackson.

The group which comprises founding members Johnny Mackay (guitar/vocals) and Heath Crawley (bass), as well as new member Ryan Caesar (drummer number seven or eight), hope to release their debut album in October.

And where better to record a major label debut than in Los Angeles with none other than producer extraordinaire Dave Sardy (Wolfmother, Jet) at the helm?

Let the backlash begin.
