The organisers of this weekend's Golden Plains festival have issued a final press release regarding the upcoming event. Always one for propagating the community vibe that befits the beautiful surrounds and family origins of the festival, it comes as a little out of character for our 'aunty' to be so ... hardcore.
She says: "Over the years some people have cheated their way in to the festival without a ticket. This means the size of the crowd is larger, the facilities have more people using them, and the amphitheatre is fuller.
Enough is enough. From now on anyone caught trying to cheat their way in will be immediately handed over to the Police. There is now a zero tolerance policy, so please be warned:
DO NOT
- Attempt entry in any manner without a valid ticket, or
- Trespass on private property, or
- Approach the site by other than the appropriate route.
Anyone that does so is in fact breaking the law and will be prosecuted, facing significant financial penalties and even a criminal conviction."
The details go on to explain that there will be a "police presence" on site, and "gate, ground and aerial patrols in operation – specifically to stop people sneaking in." This probably just means that there'll be a guy sitting on top of the disco-cow pointing at people. Like usual.
