My Kingdom for a Baseball

A band very close to Mess+Noise HQ's hearts (guitarist Ben Butcher is the photographer for many a Mess+Noise Magazine feature article,) Baseball are finally set to drop their debut album entitled Animal Kingdom. After a gestation period of nigh on 7 years, head Baseballer 'Thick Passage' now finds himself fronting a veritable Melbourne super group. Having arrived on the scene as wild-eyed/haired/limbed drummer for Sandro and Ninety-Nine,

Thick Passage is now joined by multi-instrumentalists Monika Fikerle (Love of Diagrams, Sea Scouts) and Evelyn Morris (Pikelet, True Radical Miracle) on bass and drums respectively, and guitarist Ben Butcher (Assassination Collective, Photographer extraordinaire.) Animal Kingdom is out February 25th via Stomp Records. Making them label mates with these guys.

For a band releasing their debut, Baseball have already covered a staggering amount of terrain. In the last two years alone they've trekked through eighteen (!) countries, and shared stages with the likes of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Sleater-Kinney, Les Savy Fav and Vincent Gallo. With sea legs like that, an Australian album tour is like popping down to the shops.
