When it comes to supporting and nurturing a local music scene in this country, the Western Australian government have got that shit down pat. Established as far back as 1985, the Western Australian Music Industry have sought to do right by both the performers and ultimately the punters of the MOST ISOLATED CITY ON EARTH (sigh) eventually culminating in the now feted WAMi Awards. So as the annual event draws closer to a kick off date of February 15th, thus heralding a solid week and a bit of pretty much every band that ever existed in W.A rattling their tins somewhere in the great state, the powers that be have graciously announced a list of showcases happening. Skoal and back slap at the WAMi Awards Night. Crunch the numbers and fire the keyboard player after the WAMi Music Business Conference. And lay on the fairy bread at the er, Saturday Spectacular!
