The Night Before Tomorrow is a refreshing quartet of musicians in the overwhelming gaggle of Melbourne bands, playing their home made songs with a confident air, somewhere right in the middle of intensity and silliness.
Taking themselves just seriously enough to perform their songs well, The Night Before Tomorrow don themselves in matching jackets and ties - Sgt Peppers inspired but actually looking more like a disfunctional Salvation Army Band.
With drums, bass, electric guitar and piano, the band sits sometimes awkwardly and sometimes comfortably between the styles of the Velvet Underground, Billy Joel, Daniel Johnson, The Slits and The Shaggs! And were recently described by a newly converted fan as ''Chinese Nirvana''!
The Night Before Tomorrow are very excited to be releasing their 5 Songs EP which has five original tracks including the all time favourite ''I See Love From Nigella'' - a catchy punky ode to Nigella Lawson.
TNBT is a mixed ability band that has evolved out of Rose Ertler's work at Milparinka Disability Service, where she has worked with individuals and groups running music sessions, focusing on songwriting.
“Yes! Better than The Shaggs!”
“At last, a great addition to your Chinese Nirvana record collection!”
“More together than The Fall!”
“Check your smirk at the door, then pick your jaw off the floor!”
