I'm sure a DAFSFFS would be applicable here, but without the aid of the search function, I'm going to begin afresh. End explanation

I'm going to the video store tonight for one of those 8 for $10 deals, and I know I'm going to be completely stuck. Old or new, what are your favourites or recommendations? We can compile a good list for future reference.

I think this will be on the list for tonight. I could do with some quality suspense. A good scare.

I've seen Hausu, hellza. it's great.

alec - I'll watch pretty much anything with Rutger Hauer in it. The plotline of Bleeders is an added bonus.

woolfat  said about 5 months ago:

good lord...where did you find that alec?

woolfat  said about 5 months ago:

although the knife in the back of the neck looked surprisingly good.

The Way Back. Peter Weir directs, Ed Harris and Colin Farrell star. Recounts a true story of a handful of prisoners who escape a gulag and walk to India. Four skulls.

Ha, cool. Let me know how it goes, I'm pretty keen based on that plot.

woolfat  said about 5 months ago:

I wish I could tell you that its a film worth watching, but sadly, its pretty bad. And not in the good way.

Naw, I have gingersnaps to watch after this.

woolfat  said about 5 months ago:

Also, this movie seems to make the assumption that inbred cannibals are excellent in the sack.

alec m  said about 5 months ago:

it'd be wild, but you'd have to be in the mood

woolfat  said about 5 months ago:

Thats for sure. I haven't seen so much flailing since showgirls

klaximopark  said about 5 months ago:

I watched Silence Of The Lambs again last night. Still good.

yep, that movie is fucking wicked. sidenote, Jonathan Demme directed a couple of episodes of Laura Dern's show Enlightened. Just watched ep 7 of that, and his direction was absolutely genius. The show was middling out, but he really breathed some life into it.

watched Best In Show recently, Damn fine movie. Awesome puppies.

Yeah, I'd highly recommend everything they have done. If you haven't seen A Mighty Wind or For Your Consideration you should, they are hilarious

Waiting for Guffman!

klaximopark  said about 5 months ago:

All those. Christopher Guest, baby. He even puts in a killer showing ad the six fingered man in Rob Reiner's The Princess Bride.

jhf92  said about 5 months ago:

Gone with the Pope

It was shot in the 70s but the director (Duke Mitchell) died with it unfinished. Apparently they found the negatives in his garage a few years after his death and stitched it all together. Released with Grindhouse. Wish there was a DVD or digital copy somewhere, been searching since I saw it last year...
