Well, I'm almost embarrassed about this, but I pulled out the classic Marvin the Album last night and loved it!
A twee band, but great songs. Their second album was also pretty damn good.
I think they've reformed. Marvin is gold though/.

awesome musicianship.
naa, i like it.
Great band. Girl, No Time etc.
The second record, Shape, is just amazing. Air, Goodbye Goodguy, Sit On My Hands...just great. So forgotten. So much cooler than missy higgins/holly throsby et al...
So Mad is just one of the prettiest songs. They should reissue the records.
Yeah, it was a pretty bold move the second album, having such huge success with Marvin, Shape is quite uncommercial (for frente). Lost them a lot of fans I imagine.
william, i agree that shape is a much better album...
I used to have this copy of juice magazine.
I only remember the singles. There wasn't enough angry guitar to warrant a purchase back then.
davehatesyou: Some of the riffs in accidently kelly street were angst ridden...
that's the thing. The playing was awesome, you listen to some of the stuff on Shape...some great noisy bits, weird (safe) psychedlia...i mean it was sort of trendy at the time, that whole Beth Orton, post portishead vibe. Just never broke their image did they.
Fuck, they recorded a song with Ween. How's that not instant cred?
I know, I know... but what can I say? I was like 13 and didn't know any better. The world revolved around Slayer. Now, with something that resembles hindsight, I can see the awesomeness.
when i was 13 i was torn right down the middle between the Beastie Boys' Licence To Ill and Van Halen's 5150.
tough times.
labour of love and sychophants off their first EP. just wonderful.
Thisispants you are a little pussy for liking frente. Fucken sickening band full of other faggots just like you.
Love them... heard their cover of Absolutly Kelly Street on some SBS film and tottally brightened my night. Angie Hart singing 'Bizzare Love Triangle' to 15 people at my uni's beergarden was a strange highlight of uni
Modern Giant have a song called 'Angie Hart' about wanting to move to Melbz to be near Angie Hart
yeah, pussy and twee, but good and happy
Hahaha Beastie Boys came later for me, and Van Halen were my stepping stone from Hendrix to Motley Crue. I'm sure there's some thematic chain there...
accidently kelly street was the first cassingle i bought.
labour of love and sychophants off their first EP. just wonderful.
agreed. really hated the album when it came out though. Don't know if I was just sick of them or that nothing compared to that ep. Wish I still had a copy of that ep.
"Van Halen were my stepping stone from Hendrix to Motley Crue."
oh do i hear you, dave.
puts on Ten Seconds To Love
Shut up Rueben, you dumb kunt
learn to spell and get fucked, Judge.
wow, you're becoming a little obsessed, aren't you Judge?
i think i stopped mimicry as a form of mockery at about, oh... three years of age?
what a sad little creature you are.
FRENTE IS NOT ABOUT HATE. FRENTE IS ABOUT LOVE
i used to play in a metal band back then and it made me happy to piss my band mates off by wearing a frente t-shirt on stage.
Anyway, I too love Frente. Where can I get a CD copy of Shape?
at a CD store
Right.
And look how cool Frente shirts are no doubt about to become among metal bands - I can just picture Beltsy wearing one at the Blood Duster show tonight.
Angie hart made a cameo in an ep of Firefly.
i just watched the old footage of Frente on home & away! classic!~
if someone has the ep's or shape, can they put them in gmail?
I secong Charles' comment!!
