Haha, we'll see.

Whoa, that's great!

blake3030  said about 4 years ago:

I want that magazine compilation! Lot's of good bands on it.

I'll listen to this later. Haven't listened to a Sufjan song this year, I don't think.

He's re-releasing Seven Swans on vinyl with a bonus 7-inch of out-takes. Loves his outtakes does this guy.

paulie  said about 4 years ago:

i'm not hugely enamoured with that tune.

anonymous  said about 4 years ago:

A bonus 7" of two Sufjan songs from the "Seven Swans" sessions that are not available in any other format.

1 - I Went Dancing With My Sister (Side A)
2 - Waste Of What Your Kids Won't Have (Side B)

emmy hennings  said about 4 years ago:

I bought that re-released vinyl edition of Seven Swans a coupla weeks back, seeing as I missed the vinyl first time around. Haven't listened to the 7" yet.

New song?

Listens. Rubs eyes.

Bizarre!

101010101010101  said about 4 years ago:

Re-listening, it's quite boring and I may never listen to it again.

Ray Jay Johnson!

runaredlight!  said about 4 years ago:

this is terrible. if his up and coming is as terrible as this i think he may have lost a fan.

emmy hennings  said about 4 years ago:

I'm hoping that it's a joke...

runaredlight!  said about 4 years ago:

thank go.

this is sounding a hell of a lot better.

runaredlight!  said about 4 years ago:

*thank god even.

Ubu  said about 4 years ago:

Softcocks! That's a great song. When is the new album due?

runaredlight!  said about 4 years ago:

i havn't heard anything yet. anybody?

blake3030  said about 4 years ago:

I don't mind that song at all. it like nothing he's done before, but kinda like some stuff he hinted at on his first album.

I'd love to see a complete change in direction like this and a whole lot of confused indie kids as a result.

for you die hard stevens fans - the dude that wrote 'you are the blood' is touring this summer. myspace.com/castanets. tour info - pastfuturespresents.com

Why have I never listened to this before? Farkdammit! I like.

montyclift  said about 2 years ago:

the BQE is a reasonably nice soundtrack for a movie in his head. rabbit is pissfarting about with a string quartet. i remain unconvinced to this 'enormous genius' of which some people speak.

raven  said about 2 years ago:

Rabbit is arrangements of a pretty out-there experimental electronic album that he released years ago, by other composers. It's not really his work at all.
The BQE is pretty impressive considering it's all his own work - orchestrations and all.
And I'd say that something like his arrangement/augmentation of that Castanets song (''You Are The Blood'') on the Dark Was The Night is pretty much genius.

raven  said about 2 years ago:

(And The BQE comes with a DVD of the movie, not in his head :P Although I have to admit that, as with most albums that come with DVDs, I haven't bothered to watch it yet...)

montyclift  said about 2 years ago:

sir, i bow to your superior knowledge of both mr stevens, and as a chap with some knowledge of pissfarting about with a string quartet. ;-)

but nothing i've heard tonight, or of his more orthodox songwriting, has me working out why some people whose taste i respect rate him so highly.

I guess it's like the Beatles.
Or heck, The Who, to speak personally. There's no accounting for taste!

tihstar  said about 1 year ago:

No one mentioned the new EP yet? It's up on his Bandcamp page for download/stream. Download is only $5 USD which given the EP is almost an hour long seems pretty reasonable.

Reminds me of Son Lux - At war with walls and mazes. Kinda mix that with bits of al his other albums and you have this. Great album.

Wow. this is awesome.

raven  said about 1 year ago:

It's fantastic. First time through I liked some bits, didn't like some bits. Second listen (last night) I loved it to bits.
