Teenage Snuff Film - Rowland S Howard

Lauren  said about 5 years ago  or at  2:47PM on Monday, July 17 2006 in music

Finally heard this album in its entirety over the weekend, and I can only describe these songs as completely perfect.

Rowland S Howard - best Australian song writer alive.

Please play more shows soon Rowland!

fastcanoe  said about 5 years ago:

Yah its a fantastic album... just wish he'd actually turn up to the shows he's booked to played

JunkiePhil  said about 5 years ago:

Lauren  said about 5 years ago:

^^ agreed

pagey  said about 5 years ago:

definitely in my all time top ten. my favourite track is dead radio (the one quoted above) but the whole album is brilliant. rowland is an outstanding lyricist.

i do wish i had it on vinyl with the bonus track, shut me down.

I still prefer Harry Howard (These Immortal Souls, Pink Stainless Tail) to Rowland Howard.

It's not a popularity contest, just my own personal taste.

fastcanoe  said about 5 years ago:

Harry has the nicest guitar..

pagey  said about 5 years ago:

all respect to harry! his guitar work blows my mind and is a beautiful thing to watch.

JunkiePhil  said about 5 years ago:

Any of that mind left after all this blowing pagey? Zeems a lota things is pop'n ya top these days!
Good too see.

hand hell  said about 5 years ago:

Aww Junks, you leave pagey's mind alone. She be cool!

JunkiePhil  said about 5 years ago:

Hey, I was being funny! No negativity intended.

She says things in blow'n her mind a lot these days. I just have a funny image of the next time I see her, All Zombie like'n shit......" Hmmmmm......HARRY.....Hmmm...." hehe...

hand hell  said about 5 years ago:

I can see why ladies would go all weak-kneed at the thought of Harry Howard.

I'm not gay though!!

pagey  said about 5 years ago:

aah junks it all balances out after giving up the green and i suspect there may be some salvalgeable bits of mind left. maybe.

harry is indeed a very handsome man. nothing to be ashamed of hand hell. i wholly endorse homo fantasies about this man!

i do wish those lads would play another gig already.

Brunswick St Polyester had copies last night

LaxCharisma  said about 5 months ago:

I got mine from JB...
but wasn't there supposed to be a bonus 7''?
I didnt get any bonus 7''

Essentially it's a 3-sided album with ''Ocean'' on Side D by itself.

mule  said about 5 months ago:

Just listened through for the first time, sounds great, very chuffed - the packaging isn't too crash hot but honestly, why worry? it's about the music...right?

JunkiePhil  said about 5 months ago:

The word Deluxe is what pissed me off more then anything.
+ I always liked the inside of the gate fold.

Evilio  said about 5 months ago:

Called JB in Prahan (where I'd seen it advertised before release) and they said they had none, but looked up on their computer and informed me that Bourke St had 11... I made the hour long drive into the city, during peak hour, looked through the store and couldnt find it. Was then told those 11 on the computer were pre-ordered. Made it down to Polyester in Flinders Lane where they has at least half a dozen on display... $40, but well worth it.

prince  said about 5 months ago:

yeah saw it at polyester brunswick today

astrousersasmind  said about 5 months ago:

My order was on my doorstep this morning = A happy trousers.

stirfry  said about 5 months ago:

The vinyl sounds incredible. I was late to Rowland, bummed I never saw him live. TSF has become one of my favourite albums.

Punch  said about 5 months ago:

i see on the polyester website their copies are gone - has anyone seen this anywhere else recently? a bit late to this :( should have got on it months ago

steveholt  said about 5 months ago:

Title in Northcote has copies late last week.

monkeyman  said about 5 months ago:

Hadn't really given this album regular play since it first came out, but can't stop listening since I got the the vinyl re-issue.

What an absolutely fucking fantastic record it is. Hard to believe it just flew under the radar upon it's initial release.

monkeyman  said about 5 months ago:

Oh and Punch, give Greville a call - they may still have some copies.

kingLoser  said about 5 months ago:

Punch: if no luck with stores there's one on Ebay (Sydney) for $50 byitnow; or an original copy in Canada that'll be going for zillions.

letterbox  said about 5 months ago:

Guy on discogs selling his 'near mint' copy for $1250.

This is the original first issue of this album, NOT the reissue on coloured vinyl.Excellent condition. Played only a few times on my audiophile Thorens turntable. Always kept away in a protective box.
