This was a thead on the old M+N, but it's a question that needs to be asked over, and over, and over again.

I am a Tree.

Yep, Tractor Rape Chain. I really like Everywhere With Helicopter as well

Hazard_Man  said about 5 years ago:

It may be a predictable answer, but I really do love Everywhere With Helicopter.

Springolator  said about 5 years ago:

I like I Am a Tree and Everywhere With Helicopter very much.
Can someone find me a Robert Pollard high kick pic for this thread please? I'm too tired and lazy to do it myself.

anyone know who's putting this out locally?

djbollocks  said about 4 months ago:

Remote Control used to distribute all of their albums locally in the past, not sure if they will be for the new one though.

djbollocks  said about 4 months ago:

17/1 for the physical release of the new album. Looking forward to it!

goingblank  said about 4 months ago:

Big Boring Wedding and Ghosts of a Different Dream slipped under the radar until recently.

djbollocks  said about 4 months ago:

New album Let's Go Eat the Factory is pretty cool, very old school GBV (not surprising really considering it's the original line-up) and very rough around the edges. Robert Pollard's songs are so much better when they're broken up by the odd Tobin Sprout number.

New album is very good. New new one in November.

dazmurray  said 9 days ago:

Game of Pricks is my favourite.

Guided By Voices tribute/insult band King Shit & The Golden Boys tonight in the basement bar of the Grace Darling, Smith St, Collingwood, Ohio.

magicpants  said 6 days ago:

So what's on the setlist, Ron?

Ron  said 6 days ago:

You want me to spoil the mystery? The anticipation? The desire? The hope?

No way. All I will say is that there are two in the set that no-one has mentioned in this thread (ie, everyone hates them.)

dazmurray  said 6 days ago:

Steeple of Knives? :D

mrs watson  said 6 days ago:

Teenage FBI?

Gold song.

mrs watson  said 6 days ago:

Surely not.... Hold On Hope?

SympatheticJuror  said 5 days ago:

Who was the post rock/hardcore band that opened up for the GBV ''tribute'' band last night? They were AMAZING.

mrs watson  said 5 days ago:

2 Litre Dolby. They were pretty special, right?

SympatheticJuror  said 5 days ago:

2 Liter Dolby. Yes, the show was HUGE. They could a be a little overindulgent at times, even for me, but all in all I loved it.

I'm a sucker for instrumental post rock, so when the dude approached the mic a tune or two in I was a little skeptical, but he definitely delivered. Really liked his style.

happenstance  said 5 days ago:

are they/ GBV-tribute playing again anytime soon? i came a bit late

djbollocks  said 3 days ago:

yeah me too, i'm very keen on seeing a GBV tribute band, do they take requests?
