You've seen right through distorted lies
You know you have to learn
The execution of your mind
You really had to turn
The race is run the book is read
The end begins to show
The truth is out, the lies are old
But you don't want to know

Nobody will ever let you know
When you ask the reason why
They just tell you that you're on your own
Fill your head all full of lies

The people who have crippled you
You want to see them burn
The gates of life have closed on you
And now there's just no return
You're wishing that the hand of doom
Could take your mind away
And you don't care if you don't see again
The light of day

Nobody will ever let you know
When you ask the reasons why
They just tell you that you're on your own
Fill your head all full of lies

Where can you run to
What more can you do
No more tomorrow
Life is killing you
Dreams turn to nightmares
Heaven turns to hell
Burned out confusion
Nothing more to tell

Everything around you
What's it coming to
God knows as your dognose
Bog blast all of you
Sabbath bloody sabbath
Nothing more to do
Living just for dying
Dying just for you

Reflex in the sky warn you you're gonna die
Storm comin' you better hide from the atomic tide
Flashes in the sky turns houses into sty
Turns people into clay, radiation minds decay

Robot minds of robot slaves lead them to atomic (grave/rage/rate)
Plastic flowers, melting sun, fading moon falls upon
dying world of radiation, victims of (man/mad) frustration,
burning globe of obscene fire, like electric funeral pyre

Buildings crashing down to what's cracking ground
[Rivers turned to wood]**, ice melting to flood
Earth lies in death bed, clouds cry for the dead
Terrifying rain, ease a burning pain

'lectric Fun'ral
'lectric Fun'ral
'lectric Fun'ral
Electric Fun'ral

And so in the sky shines the electric eye
Supernat'ral king, takes earth under his wing
Heaven's golden chorus sings, Hell's angels flap their wings
Evil souls fall to Hell, ever trapped in burning cell

** Reverse damned to ward

JunkiePhil  said about 5 years ago:

Masters never get a play in my house. It's a bit too Modern sounding for sabbath. Still good but starts to lose it.

Best moment ever is listening to the whole of Paranoid whilst driving in a van low on petrol under a full moon at the stroke of midnight thru the forests of Vancouver Island. Wolves about. Do this.

Statement on Black Sabbath Album & Tour:

Los Angeles, CA – February 2, 2012

Dear Sabbath Fans, Fellow Musicians and Interested Parties,

At this time, I would love nothing more than to be able to proceed with the Black Sabbath album and tour. However, I am unable to continue unless a ''signable'' contract is drawn up; a contract that reflects some dignity and respect toward me as an original member of the band. Last year, I worked diligently in good faith with Tony, Ozzy and Geezer. And on 11/11/11, again in good faith, I participated in the L.A. press conference. Several days ago, after nearly a year of trying to negotiate, another “unsignable” contract was handed to me.

Let me say that although this has put me in some kind of holding pattern, I am packed and ready to leave the U.S. for England. More importantly, I definitely want to play on the album, and I definitely want to tour with Black Sabbath.

Since the news of Tony's illness, and the understanding that the band would move production to the U.K., I've spent everyday getting to or living in a place of readiness to leave. That involves something of a task, and as I've tried to find out what's going on with the U.K. sessions, I've realized that I've been getting ''the cold shoulder'' (and, I might add, not for the first time). Feeling somewhat ostracized, my guess is as of today, I will know nothing of what'shappening unless I sign ''the unsignable contract.''

The place I'm in feels lousy and lonely because as much as I want to play and participate, Ialso have to stand for something and not sign on. If I sign as-is, I stand to lose my rights, dignity and respectability as a rock musician. I believe in freedom and freedom of speech. I grew up in a hard rock/metal band. We stood for something then, and we played from the heart with honesty and sincerity. I am in the spirit of integrity, far from the corporate malady, I am real and honest, fair and compassionate.

If I'm replaced, I have to face you, the beloved Sabbath fans. I hope you will not hold me responsible for the failure of an original Black Sabbath lineup as promoted. Without fault finding, I want to assure everyone that my loyalty to Sabbath is intact.

So here I am. I lay my truth down before you. I'm good to go IF I get a “signable” contract. I don't want to let anyone down, especially Black Sabbath and all the Sabbath fans. You know I love you. It would be a sad day in Rock if this current situation fell to the desires of a few.

My position is not greed-driven. I'm not holding out for a ''big piece'' of the action (money) like some kind of blackmail deal. I’d like something that recognizes and is reflective of my contributions to the band, including the reunions that started fourteen years ago. After the last tour I vowed to never again sign on to an unreasonable contract. I want a contract that shows some respect to me and my family, a contract that will honor all that I've brought to Black Sabbath since its beginning.

That's the story so far.

Stay safe and stay strong.

I love every single one of you.

--Bill Ward

May not be greed driven but he wants more money. Maybe an even spilt?

Mo  said about 3 months ago:

he's after acknowledgement of his contribution to Sabbath, when you consider Black Sabbath always split 4 ways, even for Ozzy who never wrote a lyric in his life.... it makes sense

it not being an even split would entirely have to do with Sharon

if she deprives me of seeing Sabbath with Bill Ward on drums, i will kill her and eviscerate her overweight, spoilt, tick-like spawn

chimpassgimp666  said about 3 months ago:

Surely common sense will prevail. I mean how much more money do she and Ozzie need right?

Mo  said about 3 months ago:

Sharon has no respect for other musicians barring Ozzy, she just views them as side men, i mean she did get trujillio and bordin to redo the drums and bass on blizzard of ozz and diary of a madman...

losgauchos  said about 3 months ago:

Without Bill Ward its not really a reunion album/tour, it is just another incarnation of Black Sabbath. It is sad as it is probably the last chance to do a proper reformation as Tommy sounds like he doesn't have many years (months?) left in him.

BLACK SABBATH RECORDING UPDATE

We were saddened to hear yesterday via Facebook that Bill declined publicly to participate in our current Black Sabbath plans...we have no choice but to continue recording without him although our door is always open... We are still in the UK with Tony. Writing and recording the new album and on a roll... See you at Download!!!

Now now, Mo. That's not actually true. While Ozzy is far and away the worst lyricist in the band you can recognise his particilar lyrical style across quite a lot of his recorded career.

Ozzy wrote the lyrics for 'Who are you?' and 'Am I going insane'. Geezer has claimed that Ozzy wrote some or all of the lyrics to 'Black Sabbath' and I have read somewhere that he wrote 'The Writ' although I can't seem to find the source for that factoid. Barring the eponymous track you'll note these songs are, as Sabbath lyrics go, shite. The adherence to form is poor, the structure is bad and the general grammar of them is so bad they're generally incomprehensible. The eponymous song works largely because it ignores structure - I presume the lyrics were written without the music. I'm not entirely convinced that Geezer didn't give it a good editing, either. God knows there was very little quality control anywhere in the band by the time Ozzy wrote those others.

The two studio tracks on Reunion were credited to Ozzy. You can see a lot of stylistic and thematic similarities between those and the Bark at the moon tracks that aren't very good and most of the work on *No more tears and Ozzmosis. There tends to be a lot of first-person, descriptive passages of slightly creepy/spooky phenomena that are generally centred around the narrator's visual perception. I figure either he has actually learned to write a song by this point, though, and can manage a kind of comprehensible structure and lyric - or the same someone else has been writing his lyrics for him the whole time. As far as I can work out the only person that could actually be is Sharon because nobody else has been around Ozzy that whole time. Largely because Sharon fires them, or rips them off to where they won't come back. That would explain her motivation - maybe it is her?

I presume most of the solo lyrics are the same as on the above mentioned albums, post-Daisley, but I can't tell you for sure because pretty much everything after Randy died is unlistenable Californian cokehead eighties soft metal MOR shite. Which is not to say Ozzmosis and No more tears aren't - I just had the lapses of judgement that made me buy them when I was a teenager and listen to them ad infinitum hoping they would one day turn into Black Sabbath albums and/or feature Randy Rhodes. Neither of these things happened. Black days, black days.

End procrastination.

losgauchos  said about 3 months ago:

From what I understand Tony Iommi owns the Black Sabbath name/brand (hence the Iommi 80s solo albums coming out under the Sabbath name), so surely he would have a bigger say over Bill Wards cut that Sharon Osbourne? Speculation is that Ward's share of the reunion tour/album cash was so slim that he has held out to get a bigger piece of the pie, and so far failed. Pretty lame, I don't think any of them really get along anymore anyway. And a reunion with possibly only two members (Iommi's cancer treatment and illness will no doubt rule him out for the entire tour) isn't really a reunion. They should at least try and crank out one more album together before they croak.

Bill Ward wants back in the band.

Black Sabbath reunion tour now scaled down to ''Ozzy and Friends'' with Slash and Zack Wyld now involved.

This has got to be the worst reunion ever, or maybe the most rock n roll reunion ever. First the drummer quits/wants to rejoin/ is fired. Then the guitarist pulls out and may die. Then Sharon Osbourne hijacks the reunion sentiment and turns it into an Ozzy Osbourne tour starring fucking Slash and Zak Wyld.
