I remmeber reading the drum after their show in Sydney about a month back and the reviewer basically said they were as exciting as watching a tap drip.
So I think we should rename them in case they come back so they can get at least 5 people other than chats to their show.
Mine is:
At least the Valentinos write good music and can pull a decent crowd and ENTERTAIN THEM.
What are your suggestions?

not the catchiest name i've ever heard. maybe they should call themselves optus
Telstras on hold music is better than telecom?

wow! a backlash! this is exciting!
The Valentinos
imagine that. can it be transfered to people? if some kids picked on you in school, the next day you come back as a new person under a new alias! brilliant! i don't know if i could keep track of all the names i keep changing though.
I know nothing of this band other than a lot of people I hate like this band. so they suck.
i saw some of their set last year at the north melbourne town hall and they were good
anyone can type out the article? i need more information before i go about ridiculing people.
though sounds to me like the author is jealous of the bass player's sweat bands.
never seen em..but someone on mess and noise said they were good.
wow! a backlash! this is exciting!
But it's only realtimestrategies, jose, so it doesn't count.
TWO TELECOM SYDNEY SHOWS THIS WEEKEND, HELL PARTLY CLOUDY WITH CHANCE OF SNOW
Following their hugely successful performance on the first episode of Big Brother Australia 2007, during which they serenaded Gretel Kileen and Mike "Gold, Man" Goldman with their hits Maneater and Boys Light Up, TELECOM are happy to reveal that it's time to go... to Sydney! Again!
Turkey-slapping their way into S-Town, TELECOM will be hotter than Hot Dogs in the sauna for a Sandwich Club show at Candy's Apartment (location map) on Thursday, April 26 at 8pm, with LIONS AT YOUR DOOR (SYD) and the screamadelic, THE SCREAM (SYD). Boldly defying Sydney’s one-gig-per-calendar-year policy, TELECOM will then bum-dance into the Hopetoun Hotel (location map) on Friday, April 27, 8pm with THE SUITS (Frankston) plus CUTHBERT & THE NIGHTWALKERS (SYD) and JOHN COLUMBUS (SYD) (the dude who sailed the ocean blue and later directed Home Alone).
Due to council noise restrictions, applause will have to be kept to a maximum 15db level. So pretend it’s Melbourne and talk to your friends/flick your fringe/have sex in the disabled dunnies/fold your arms/knit, but for god’s sake --- don’t applaud!
Yours sincerely,
Abe Froman

I was at this show and thought the Dead Frenchmen sucked a bit. Why do people bag out the valentinos when bands as shallow as this exist?
btw, didn't mind telecom.
you know your in trouble when your supporting royal spitoon on a thurs nite at ding dong, you shoulda listened devil!
dead frenchmen are better than any other band mentioned in this thread.
Yeah, well I've been training pretty hard lately, so I think we will beat Dead Frenchmen by 5 goals the next time we play against them.
What you lack in dexterity, you shall make up with passion & power. I think if you flank their drummer with a display of blinding riddem, you could then weave a bassline past their guitarist and pop in an easy goal. Just sayin', I can see the holes in their defense that you may miss on the field.
Unfortunately with music, a lot of it comes down to who wins the toss.
...and telecom are by far the best tossers.
Good to see you lads don't seem bothered by it. All music critics are jerks and all music reviews are complete bullshit.
If 'reviewers' are to serve any function at all, it is to describe the music and that's all.
what's telecom
go back to china, bitch.
If 'reviewers' are to serve any function at all, it is to describe the music and that's all.
Fuck off.
Lester Bangs died 25 years ago today and he didn't OD on cold medicine so people could make stupid statements like that
telecom win at life!
Nick and Darren Telecom play a very-special-one-off-acoustic-mixed-with-reverby-electric-guitars-with-also-added-sweet-harmonising-backing-vocals

billy joel - we didn't start the fire
Smash Mouth's "All-Star".
frankly i'd rather hear the other two
john farnham - two strong hearts
summer nights from grease
Arthur Lee's "Hamburger Breath Stinkfinger".
no shit, horse. you're the biggest drum'n'bass fan I know. I've seen all those Tricky records at your northside pad.
anyway, i'll let you get back to the reefer.
Anything by Death From Above 1979.
don't bogart the beats
technotronic - this beat is technotronic
nick, anything in key will do, thanks.
these are all sound cover suggestions, especially that Arthur Lee track. does he rhyme tub with mud in that song?
ps. why are we advertising this gig? it's sure to be a shambles.
no chance of that, crackwhore!
yeah, good point mate, dunno what i was thinking, you can only hope, who knows, one day maybe!
There is a decent chance I will come along to this gig. However I am not commiting until the last minute. I must work and work all weekend and if I get enough done I will go to the Exford.
Meanwhile I would like to request "Turn The Beat Around" by Gloria Estefan. Because I want to hear BDK sing "Rat-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat on the drum!"
never gonna give you up - rick astley.
Did you know?
Rick Astley is in fact a vampire who has not aged since 1989
Seriously, can someone please explain to me how Rick Astley actually looks older 20 years ago than he does today.

the magic of drinking pure baby's foreskin juice
Tim Buckley - Dolphins
