(Seriously, who the fuck writes this shit???)

“This is the kind of finely tuned, effects heavy, disco-beat driven guitar rock that could ideally follow the likes of Bloc Party across the English country-side”
– Drum Media

Bringing their explosive live show to an abrupt end, THE VALENTINOS will play their last shows
(under their current name!) at The Annandale in Sydney on Friday 18 May, and Click Click
at Brown Alley in Melbourne on Saturday 19 May.

Soul artist from the 1950s, Bobby Womack & The Valentinos, are the reason for the band’s impending
name change. “Whoop whoop, it’s the sound of the police”, or should we say the lawyers? The time has come for The Valentinos to get a new moniker before they land in some hot water.

After standout performances at V Festival and touring the country on last month’s ‘best-thing-outta-Belgium-since-the-waffle’ Radio Soulwax tour, the shows in May will be the first opportunity
to hear the band play brand new tracks from their forthcoming debut album.

The Valentinos are set to release the first single from the album this July, which was recorded and produced in Sydney by legendary Berlin-based UK producer Ewan Pearson, who is currently in the studio producing the new M83 album. Pearson will return to Australia later this year to record and produce The Valentinos debut album, which is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of the next twelve months.

In other news, The Valentinos first two EPs Self Titled and Damn & Damn Again have been re-pressed due to overwhelming demand.

Don’t miss your chance to catch The Valentinos play their last shows (under their current name) next month!

They will always be The Valentinos to me.

Piss poor - they had a million options and they let it go.

In 30 years time they'll be sitting in the call centre knowing with devastating certainty that things could have gone differently - if only they'd picked "retardsAREtards".

the power of 666  said about 6 years ago:

How funny is it that they're all looking like Kyuss in flannos now.

Fucking oxford street... QUICK! LOOK LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.

gabbo  said about 6 years ago:

wait, is this flannelette thing just a sydney thing?

why is it suddenly 1994 again?

the power of 666  said about 6 years ago:

If it's not in melbourne, it will be. it's just a bunch of cunts trying to get in on the 90s thing before everyone else does. See Flannos thread.

BurtBacharach  said about 6 years ago:

I did the same thing re Los Valentinos...and yep, much better name than Lost Vs

seamonkeydisco, didn't you say you wrote some of their songs??

The LowDown  said about 6 years ago:

I don't mind the valentinos, its mindless fun pop music, I don't think its suppose to be taken too seriously.

I haven't heard anything they have done that has been as catchy as the man with the gun song that got flogged on trippy J.
