The Toff in Town
As you will know, US doom-drone behemoth SUNN 0))) will be performing a HUGE must-see show together with Japanese monsters BORIS at the Hi-fi Bar on Wednesday 9th May. However we are pleased to announce a Melbourne-only intimate 'improv' show that will include collaborations with members of black metal legends Mayhem and Striborg! This show will be completely different to the Hi-fi show and strictly limited to capacity in the lush surrounds of Melbourne's newest venue The Toff in Town on Tuesday 8th May
This ritual will feature the first public appearance of Tasmania's Sin Nanna aka STRIBORG, making a special & rare live collaboration with Attila Csihar, (legendary vocalist of Mayhem), Aussie avant-maverick Oren Ambarchi, and Greg Anderson & Stephen O'Malley of Sunn 0))). Blackened low-end psychedelics not for the faint hearted - a one-time event not to be missed!!!
Unearthly ritual with strictly limited capacity. You can pre-purchase tickets to avoid disappointment from The Toff in Town, Metropolis Bookstore, Polyester Records and the Corner Box Office - phone: 9427 9198 or on-line: www.cornerhotel.com. Tickets on sale Thursday 26th April. Pre-sale tickets: $30 + bf / $35 on the door if available.

Damn, that'll be freakin full on!!
where the hell is the toff?
in town..
Good stuff!!
FUCK YEAH!
For some reason that was impossible to follow.
Sydney show?
what is this place?
252 Swanston Street I'm guessing.
some info
thats pretty awesome
ohh, that's the new place in the cookie building. got it.
I'm scared in a good way. Last time Sunn O))) came out they made me spew twice. They only played for twenty odd minutes from memory,
I can only imagine how many times this event will make me evacuate my gut lining, WARNING- don't stand in front of me, unless you want an even unholier ritual.

They played for about an hour.
Were you the one the ambulance was called for after the gig? There were some seriously fucked people there after they finished.
I reckon this gig is so O'Malley can stuff more cashish into his already deep pockets, but it does sound pretty good.
An hour???
Time flies when you're trying to act casual while voming under a table
of course it's so o'malley can cash in.
i'd go if i was in your town that week.
I'll be able to hear the rumbling from up here
y'all can buy tickets from the Corner website for this now...
oh man. i'm very tempted.

the 3d's are much appreciated on this here front too .. I hear he ships in his own Dunedin brown sludge to siphon daily horse, quite a particular fella.
fuckin awesome night. had a chat to a few chats at the show........jem and I enjoyed it muchly.......
F O G !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SIN NANNA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
details, hwct!
suffice for now to say plenty of FOG was involved and sin nanna and atilla made some awesome contributions. very loud and very proud. doom O))))))) very good night. SOOOOOOOOO))))))) much DRY ICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's with all the smoke and masks? I know what you look like!
yeah the masks were funny.
I was a little disappointed for most of the set - seemed to be doom-by-numbers, not as inspired and interactive as I thought it would be. It seemed like the guys may have been having trouble with stage sound or foldback. But then there was a moment when it kicked into awesomeness. After Sin Nanna and Attila had done a feedback vocal screetching duet, the fog just went sick, and when it cleared, everyone was wearing stupid animal masks from the zoo, the drums came in and it was EXTREME \m/
Power-violence doom-grind. Reminded me a bit of abruptum. maybe wasn't worth $30 bucks in and of itself, but you don't get to go and see Attila singing everyday.
Pretty poor until the drums came in, although the singing was suitably creepy. Fuck the smoke too, you couldn't see a fucking thing except for Oren at the front.
Oh and 9pm. only 150 tix for this show
MY FUCKING ARSE It was packed. Isn't that a breach of contract on their behalf?
when the drums came in, they would have been near-in-audible in the back, luckily I had only Fire Witch in front of me, and he's a shorty so my view/sound was perfect. It was a good time. Tonight will be great and very different. I spoke to Atsuo and Takeshi of BORIS who were at the show. both nice guys and seemed genuinely stoked to be touring and meeting new friends. the number of people @ 'Pentemple' was healthy but not sardine-packed. beer was WAY OVERPRICED @ the Toff though. Otherwise, no complaints.
HOTT
when the mass of dry ice dispersed and the guys became visible , with their animal masks, it made a good impact.
up the front i had the get out for a second, the fog became so bad and i became a little disoriented. kinda bad because it stank too.
the toff is a fucking waste of time, but the gig was an experience.
it was good for a one-off like this, but yeah I dunno about future LOUD shows.
i think just in general, the place is ridiculous.
i didnt really think much about the place
its a complete wank for the sake of it. not a fan.
however, the band room was nice enough.
the 150 capacity is with tables taken into account- however the soundcheck created 'movement problems' with tables and chairs and they decided to remove them, hence the extra peeps no doubt...
I enjoyed it a bunch. liked the barely audible drum clatter. couldn't see a thing though..
shit venue. shit drink prices. i would have liked to see some drumming. had a good time, but.
