aquatic  said about 5 years ago:

good band, its shame i cant go

TransientRandom  said about 5 years ago:

i reckon! i can't wait. the album is getting some great reviews too. i'll have to dig a couple out. it sold out at red eye within about 3 seconds too, so i hear. don't worry folks, i'm sure they're getting more in.

incognito  said about 5 years ago:

this is going to be the best night of the social calendar this year.

you must get your hands on a copy of the album- it's brilliant!!

le_disco  said about 5 years ago:

wow, nice line-up. ill be there.

TransientRandom  said about 5 years ago:

This band is a soundscape that you just have to experience to believe, and they WANT you to believe. Faster Louder

These guys really are the spit. They effortlessly mesmerize. Enthralled? You should be. Huge? They should be. - Steve Anderson, Drum Media

Mightily impressed...we mean it man...excellent swinging-sixties tinged psych-pop hypnosis - Murray Engleheart, Drum Media.

Why can't anyone in the States make music this brilliant? Can't wait for your first album... Greg Shaw (RIP), Bomp Records

medicineman  said about 5 years ago:

i'm really enjoying the record.. bought it on firday and listened to it while driving around on saturday... very happy.

ClevelandRocks  said about 5 years ago:

there are things i love and things i hate about DRM, Mainly the keys thing i think im not so sure about the live sound that comes outta those speakers, but the songs are awesome and so are most of the sounds. Shame i cant go .

medicineman  said about 5 years ago:

yeah man - the keys sound way better on the record than they do live... record has got some great sounds on it.. you would really dig it.

TransientRandom  said about 5 years ago:

i totally agree, mm. they are the happiest band! i don't think you can go see them and leave without a smile on your face. same with belles.

haha.. if only hammonds/leslies were more portable...

medicineman  said about 5 years ago:

the roland JD 990 is pretty inexpensive now ($400 second hand) and with the Classic keys of the 60s and 70s expansion card you can get increibly good organ sounds.

ClevelandRocks  said about 5 years ago:

TR well Matty our guitarist has built a hendrix esque leslie speaker for his guitar, its awesome and not that big .

scallywag  said about 5 years ago:

where did they record?

TransientRandom  said about 5 years ago:

sounds cool! despite playing in a band with him, i'm not exactly sure what he uses. i know he has a leslie emulator pedal, which was hooked up to the actual leslie for ultimate super leslie power during the silvertone recordings. that was cool :)

the power of 666  said about 5 years ago:

they are the spit?

TransientRandom  said about 5 years ago:

sorry, i don't have the album in front of me to verify, but their singer dan has a studio, salisbury, with a pretty decent recording setup. i'm pretty sure most of it was done there.

TransientRandom  said about 5 years ago:

steve anderson, you need to learn how to swear.

scallywag  said about 5 years ago:

cool.

and good on off the hip for putting it out

medicineman  said about 5 years ago:

the only problem i have with the record is the sound of the drums is sometimes fairly crappy...

i think i prefer them live. as much as i love the country stuff, i do like the rock stuff more, and i am not one who "dances about" at home, no, i need to go out in public and embarass the crap out of myself.

ya cynic, cleveland.. it's from faster louder, they usually deal with heavier stuff, yeah? probably worth spelling it out.

JunkiePhil  said about 5 years ago:

Just me being an ass hole as per usual, but I find this a little fucked.

the Dolly Rocker Movement will pervade a space in your brain that's reserved for acid! And dont worry - This bunch of furry dandy-boys assure us it'll be a good trip. Infact, it'll be a darn fine one!

I've seen this band and they don't make me want to take acid at all, probably the last thing I'd want to do while watching them. Is it now cool to try and relive the 60's? I bet I take more acid then this whole band does.
Anyway, thats my cuntish rant for the morn.

PsychedelicSounds  said about 5 years ago:

where did you get that quote from phil?

its pretty lame.

JunkiePhil  said about 5 years ago:

It's extreamly lame.
Got it in a mail out on Myspace.

PsychedelicSounds  said about 5 years ago:

i have no problem with people trying to relive the music they really like, however when people turn it into more of a life style thats when i start to get turned off.

i bet only dicks in the '60s said shit like, "do you cats dig this?" Its certainly not cool now.

PsychedelicSounds  said about 5 years ago:

their manager probably sent that though, so take it asy on the boys.

scallywag  said about 5 years ago:

while it's cool right now to revive the 60s - it certainly cooler to try and revive the 80s

anyhow, i think the dollys are using "60s music" (and 70s and 80s) as a starting point - not an end point.

PsychedelicSounds  said about 5 years ago:

i agree.

nowadays they are sounding alot more 90's/2000s modern psych a la warlcoks/bjm/dandys than anything from the '60s anyway.

JunkiePhil  said about 5 years ago:

The time I saw them, I couldn't get past the Warlocks influence.
It was very strong in their song structure.
I'm not having a go really, Just made me laugh when I read it.
They is good lads.
And what can I say about reliving the 60's?
My avatar has me playing bongos in a head band with no pants on....
Don't ask.

PsychedelicSounds  said about 5 years ago:

wtf?

did you guys do revolution when you were up her phil?

i wish i could have come that night....too hungover.

JunkiePhil  said about 5 years ago:

When I was UP HER, I did do a revolution....
IS NICE!

Yes, I think we did...
Hmmmm.....

PsychedelicSounds  said about 5 years ago:

fuck this keyboard!

funny.

errrrrrrrrrrrrrr cool.

dont tell me you are too drunk to remember?

you fuck up!

whoever heard of being drunk whilst playing.

not cool man, not cool.

PsychedelicSounds  said about 5 years ago:

oh, you can have a revolution up me too if you want.?

JunkiePhil  said about 5 years ago:

We'll see,
After all, It only takes
Just 5....... Secconds.....
Yeah,
Think I've had enough of this thread.

temporarybenbutler  said about 5 years ago:

PsychedelicSounds  said about 5 years ago:

PsychedelicSounds  said about 5 years ago:

Just bought their new album * a purple journey into the mod machine*. loving it. I prefer so much more than the debut. songs are stronger and the recording is a lot more solid.
