I saw Takk for only $8.99 at JB yesterday.
haha, that cartoon's great
lots of things happening with these guys. an acoustic album, a live DVD, a new EP, odin's raven magic on CD & DVD, and the film hlemmur and their soundtrack as a CD/DVD package.
one of my highlights of the US trip earlier this year was getting a hold of the Takk 3LP for AUS$40.
i'm looking forward to that live DVD.
i wonder if it's going to be the show that was webcast. that would be grand.
i think it is a 'tour film' covering last year's Takk tour in Iceland. I'll dig up a link.
this looks good.
in a frozen sea. we are pleased to announce news of a unique and exciting new sigur rós release. ‘in a frozen sea - a year with sigur rós’ will be released on june 1st and looks set to become a real collector’s item. put together by long term sigur rós fan and music industry veteran jeff anderson, the book contains exclusive imagery from the band’s already legendary icelandic tour of last summer. the 32 page publication will come encased in a 12″ vinyl jacket and be available on its own or as part of a limited edition vinyl package with three of the band’s 12″ lps.
here are some photos from the 2006 iceland tour

Icicle Sleeve is fantastic.
Where did you hear this song? I've never heard of it from Sigur Ros or Jonsi before.
Victory Rose is your friend
They post a lot of Sigur Ros and Jonsi gigs and sessions there.
Thanks ProDelgado! I didn't know about this.
Any idea if Jonsi plays any of the Riceboy Sleeps stuff live? (I could look around to find out, but I'll just let someone tell me)
Didn't at the show I saw. I just learnt that was the first full concert they played together which makes the performance all the more remarkable.
That Victory Rose blog is great.
thanks for drawing my attention to that blog kids.
Fuck Tornado is a great song.
Anyone know who supports are tonight?
anyone know the set times?
also, i've got a spare ticket for $50 if anyone wants
I can't stand this band. I find them odious.
Sigur Rós vs. the advertising industry's use of soundalikes
Sigur Ros have pout a stack of demos and alternate takes and stuff up on soundcloud to listen to.
Just had a listen to starálfur (reversed) and was surprised/amazed to hear that the main string refrain is the same played backwards!
Anyone who is a fan of the song should have a listen, it's pretty cool...
New album out May 28th
Holy crap...
Holy crap 2: the crappening!
Reminds me: I still need to watch Inni.
word swirling around that they'll be in aus this year
confirmed
