Watch some episodes of M*A*S*H to see what Hawkeye, Trapper and the gang did on RnR in Toyko.. getting drunked with Geishas in Bathhouses and playing tricks on General Macarthur... Go whacky M*A*S*H style
damn asterix.
imperial palace grounds (you can't miss it)
Koishikawa Korakuen Garden, built in 1620's, and now sitting next to tokyo dome, amazing on its own, and weird due to its place in the middle of modern tokyo.

We are going to the love hotel that Fashion Hayley went to
We are strangely inspired by FH
My flight from Osaka got back about an hour ago. A flight I booked FROM Japan on a whim (because it was so cheap - Jetstar sales, $250 including tax), without thinking about whether I could afford to get TO Japan. I suppose that $250 wasn't such a bargain, it being wasted and all. Really want to get to Japan sometime in the not too distant future though.
hahaha, Pelt! That's showing true determination linked with a 'meh, fuck it' kinda drive! Good work!
It also shows why I have such a large debt to the folks at Mastercard. I mean, the ticket was $250, and I jussssst had enough credit left to do it.
Sixer, it was such a good idea at the time, in it's awfulness. And there's nothing more fun than a poorly thought plan that could work. I figured I'd fall arse backwards into cash and it'd end up with me coming home from Japan triumphant with 'we are the champions' playing, ala revenge of the nerds. Alas, the dream petered out, like the rest of the revenge of the nerds series.
Also, I think I need to pitch 'Nerds In Japan' to the franchise holders. Think of the misadventures!

hahaha you filthy bugger(ya beat me to the punch)
I'd be in. Can I be the guy who just stands there playing gameboy with a really shit catchphrase I say once an episode?
Like "Wha happened?"
In Kyoto go to kiyomizudera
In Hiroshima, eat hiroshima style okonomiyaki, check out Miyajima
and of course the memorial museum.
In Osaka eat fugu at this restaurant near dotonbori bridge
Go to a club called Public Cafe at a venue called Noon and say hello to the DJ Aoyama Toshiharu for me.....

Hayley your bike got stolen? I thought things hardly got stolen in Japan. I've heard stories of people leaving wallets in their bike basket and it still being there hours later.
i hear bikes get pinched a bit, though mattlee.
The only things that usualy get stolen are bikes and umbrellas. They're more borrowed than stolen too as the bike or brolly is usually discarded.
yeah i've pinched a few brolly's myself
it seems more an exchange with umbrellas though. they're mostly the same kind, so you end up with someone else' version of your own...
Yeah my bike was just borrowed by a drunk man who returned it to the same spot 2 days later guiltily. I always ''borrowed'' umbrellas. In fact just as Nova started to collapse the Japanese staff were advised to sell all the umbrellas left by students for scrap metal/plastic so that there will be money for petty cash (we couldn't afford rubbish bags, travel money, paper, pens, markers...ahhh the signs of a company about to collapse, what we just though was stinginess was actually huge signs of financial stress)
we stayed in the greatest place ever in osaka last night! This teeny guesthouse with 4 rooms atop an adorable cafe/bar/crafty shop. The staff were lovely and the whole place was just prolapsing charm (that's good!).
Prolapsing? Haha. You sick thing!
There is a bar called Alicia in Tokyo. It was near where my brother lived, but I don't know where that was (helpful, I know!). He showed me but we didn't go inside. But you should...
HOLY CRAP
we found the greatest bar EVER in kyoto last night: Mushroom Bar/Pretty Space.
this is the dream I had of Japan when I was 17...
i think you need to go here...

ahh fuck, you'll have to do it yourselves.

For fuck's sake, I was in Kyoto last night and didn't know about this. FUCK.
so.... what are the cool hang outs in Narita Airport? I got 2 more hours here.
lalz
Narita airport is pretty dull....I normally head to McDonalds...I like the un manned mono-rail
to get to the departure lounge
I liked narita airport. i haven't been there since 2002 (year 10 trip) so it's probably grown since then..
Try scaling the escalators that'll pass the time.
bump for mex
What are good day trips from Tokyo?
Hmm, that's great, thanks.
