Ebony and ivory ... Michael Jackson's pale complexion makes him a controversial choice for the African-American magazine's cover.

After years of silence, rumor and a sordid trial, Michael Jackson has given his first major U.S. interview in a decade and has been pronounced normal.
Jackson, 49, appears on the front cover of the African-American magazine Ebony to mark the 25th anniversary of Thriller - the world's best-selling studio album that also made him a superstar.
But the self-styled ''King of Pop'' who has largely shunned publicity since his 2005 trial and acquittal on child molestation charges, gave little glimpse of what the future holds despite hints in recent years that a comeback is in the works.
The cover photo of the magazine, whose December edition hits newsstands on November 12, is causing almost as much of a stir as the interview, which barely addresses the fallout of the trial.
Jackson is pictured dressed all in white, with a glowing peaches-and-cream skin. One post on the pop culture blog dotspotter.com commented; ''Michael Jackson has to be the whitest person to ever be on the cover of Ebony magazine.''
Jackson has in the past attributed his gradual skin whitening to a disease called vitiligo.
Harriette Cole, creative director of Ebony, spent a day and a half with Jackson during the photo shoot and interview and said, ''he came across really as kind of normal.''
''He's 49. He's a grown-up. If you learn from your challenges, then you become stronger. He certainly seemed like that,'' Cole told NBC's Today show this week. ''Honestly ... he was normal.''
Jackson, who has three children, told Ebony he was in the studio daily but did not specify whether he was working on a new album.
Excerpts of the Ebony interview were released as reports emerged that Jackson could lose his famous Neverland ranch home in central California.
Records obtained by the U.S. housing breakdown blog www.ml-implode.com, showed that Jackson owed $23.2 million on a $23 million loan on the property and that Neverland was listed on the foreclosure and notice of default report for Santa Barbara County.
Jackson's aides did not return calls for comment.
Jackson abandoned Neverland after the 2005 trial and has lived for a time in Ireland, Dubai and Las Vegas and is currently living on the U.S. East Coast.
The former pop superstar is reportedly planning to release a 25th anniversary edition of Thriller later in November with four new and four remixed tracks. He is said to have worked with Kanye West, Akon and Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas.
The original 1982 Thriller has sold more than 104 million copies worldwide and was the first album in history to produce seven Billboard Hot 100 top-ten singles.
Hey what is the name of that UK journo that did the doco on MJ where he climbed into a special tree and the journo started to be a real cunt to him in the end?
I wouldn't really be too fussed when Madonna dies. I know she's had a huge impact on pop music, but I just really don't like her, or her music all that much.
There is pleanty of good Jacko post Thriller.
Bad has some killer shit on it, as does Dangerous.
I got really sad last night, for the 1st time since his death.
I didn't watch all the stuff on the TV, but I just felt like somthing was missing from my life now.
I grew up with Jacko in a big way, and have never stopped listening to his music, watching his videos and reading everything I could on him.
Made me sad to think it'll all be a memory soon.
after watching all the MJ shows that were on last night with a couple of mates, we came to the conclusion that theres not really anyone around today that, on sudden passing, would have the same impact as MJ has had on the world.
A GRIEVING Melbourne fan with an ''unhealthy obsession'' for the late Michael Jackson has been convicted and fined $24,000 for pirating the King of Pop's music and DVDs.
Described in court as a caring and likeable, if ''unusual'', man, Matthew Zore's almost lifelong worship of Jackson grew into a lucrative online blackmarket enterprise in Australia and overseas.
Zore, 35, yesterday appeared in Melbourne Magistrates Court, which heard that despite his ''predilection'' for Michael Jackson he could become a contributing member of the community.
The hearing was peppered with Jackson-inspired exchanges between magistrate Kate Hawkins, defence lawyer Michael Gleeson and prosecutor Daniel Gurvich who said Zore had demonstrated an unhealthy obsession for Jackson.
''That's a very judgmental comment, Mr Gurvich,'' she responded, and indicated there were those who liked Jackson, but later, when Mr Gleeson went to quote a lyric from Beat It, Ms Hawkins asked: ''Do you have to?''
The Los Angeles County coroner has ruled Michael Jackson's death a homicide, a law enforcement official says.
This finding makes it more likely criminal charges will be filed against the doctor who was with the pop star when he died and is the target of a manslaughter investigation.
The coroner determined a fatal combination of drugs was given to Jackson hours before he died June 25 in his rented Los Angeles mansion, according to the official who spoke on condition of anonymity because the findings have not been publicly released.
Forensic tests found the powerful anesthetic propofol acted together with at least two sedatives to cause Jackson's death, the official said.
Dr. Conrad Murray, a Las Vegas cardiologist who became Jackson's personal physician weeks before his death, is the target of the Los Angeles Police Department's manslaughter investigation.
According to a search warrant affidavit unsealed on Monday in Houston, Murray told investigators he administered a 25mg dose of propofol around 10.40am after spending the night injecting Jackson with two sedatives in an unsuccessful attempt to get him to sleep.
The warrant, dated July 23, states that lethal levels of propofol were found in Jackson's system. Besides the propofol and two sedatives, the coroner's toxicology report found other substances in Jackson's system but they were not believed to have been a factor in the singer's death, the official said.
Murray has spoken to police and last week released a video saying he ''told the truth and I have faith the truth will prevail.''
His attorney, Edward Chernoff, had no immediate comment but has previously said Murray never administered anything that ''should have'' killed Jackson.
A call to the coroner's office was not returned on Monday.
Murray did not say anything about the drugs he gave to Jackson.
''Michael Jackson Alive'' Rumors Are Circulating. Could the King of Pop Live on like the King of Rock?
Is Michael Jackson alive? The Chicago Tribune has posted a video which makes some people think that Michael Jackson is alive and that his death was nothing more than a big hoax. The ''Michael Jackson alive'' video depicts what looks like Michael Jackson walking out of a coroner's vehicle.
After seeing the video, many people are asking the question ''Is Michael Jackson alive?'' Although conspiracy theories are always fun to entertain, I highly doubt the ''Michael Jackson alive''

rumors.
Although I doubt the ''Michael Jackson alive'' rumors, it doesn't surprise me one bit that some people think that the King of Pop staged his own death. I've always thought that there were eerie parallels between the death of Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley. ''Michael Jackson alive'' rumors add to these strange similarities.
For many years, people have wondered if the ''King of Rock'', a.k.a. Elvis Presley really died. In fact, a book titled Is Elvis Alive? written by Gail Brewer Giorgio rose to #8 in the New York Times bestseller list. In this book, Giorgio discusses a conspiracy theory which includes anecdotes of Elvis sightings throughout the country. The theory is that someone impersonated Elvis Presley and lived at the Graceland Manor. Then, that individual staged the death of Elvis Presley.
Why would Michael Jackson or Elvis Presley stage their own death? It's evident from the popularity of ''Michael Jackson alive'' rumors and the various conspiracy theories surrounding the death of Elvis Presley that these two Kings were scrutinized and followed by the media. Perhaps staging a death was the only way for these individuals to have a life.
If Michael Jackson did stage his own death, and ''Michael Jackson alive'' rumors are indeed true, it would be a lot more tragic than the death of Elvis Presley. Michael Jackson's death was ruled a homicide and a physician that treated Michael Jackson will likely spend a lot of time behind bars. In addition, Michael Jackson loved his children. He would not leave these three young children behind - especially since he was a single father.
''Michael Jackson alive'' rumors are just that - rumors. Expect to hear of mysterious Michael Jackson sightings and expect a book about how Michael Jackson's death was staged. You will probably see a flood of YouTube videos which show individuals
Michael Jackson Alive? Could the Rumors Be True?
that look like Michael Jackson. This will fuel internet ''Michael Jackson alive'' rumors. However, you need to use common sense and realize that ''Michael Jackson alive'' rumors are false.
Love the Burger Breath T-shirt.

SMH has gone all Daily Telegraph today. They've published a photo of MJ dead on a hospital guerny.
Yuck!
Meanwhile, what is with Janet's amazingly hilarious tour name? Number Ones: Up Close and Personal.

Haha! A Tour name Spinal Tap would be proud of.
That voicemail is just all kinds of disturbing.

Murray didn't know how to perform CPR and he asked the kids to come into the room where their father was dying. Classy.
um yeah so the verdict was guilty.
News.com.au outdid themselves this morning. On the homepage they had a giant picture of MJ lying dead and naked.
Michael Jackson is charged with kidnap, false imprisonment, threats to kill and sexual assault.
