Has anyone been up to the RJ Hamer Aboretum in the Dandenongs?
I THOROUGHLY recommend it for an autumn walk. Once the trees are changing colour.
Can't find a good photo of the autumn colours on the web but its amazing. Some guy planted tonnes of trees there for posterity last century, and the are v.pretty to walk though. There's also walks going through the surrounding bush. Good place for a 4/5 hour walk on a daytrip.
Might need guide book of Vic walks to do the walk.

Looks amazing...
Looks grand.. sounds about the perfect length of walk for my late arising habits.. Is there any public transport nearby (say with 10-20klms?) one could take a bike on?
Probably Belgrave station?
hmmm.. consults UBD.. indeed, then straight up some Monbulk rd and one is there.. I'm liking the sounds of it all.
Get some fucken autumn into ya, it's beautiful out there!!!!!
Agreed. Stunnin'. I'm going to get my gold afternoon fix shortly.
When I was growing up, Spring was always my favourite season, but now, as an adult, I have realised Autumn is so much better than Spring.
This is one of my fav spots in Melbourne. Full Stop.
