You in Melb or Syd?
Disposal stores used to be the go for those!
And markets... if you're in Melb I'd try Preston Market or Pipeworks....
I have a chocloate brown one- but the navy ones are the really true item
vintage shops etc.
i think i still own a black one that i bought in the 70's
Is it right or wrong to team a duffle coat with a duffle bag?
Also, what does "duffle" mean?
duffle is the material it's made out of, unvisible
interesting.
if they laugh at me at the fabric store, I'm blaming you.
fair enough
why are you going to ask for duffle at the fabric store?
in melbourne - sam bear, russell st, city, between lt bourke and lonsdale. It's a disposals store and they have the rad shit - bonds t shirts, yakka shirts and the like. and knives.
why not?
no, i mean what for? are you going to make some duffle jeans?
pea coats are rad too.
yeah im a fan of pea coats
yeah, im in melbourne. Sam bear hey in russel st.,...awesome , I'll check it out! thanks.
i got a blue one at an op shop in east brunswick today and i wuvvy wuv him!
What op shop was it?
emmy hennings has a great one - she says it was only 10 bucks!
i was rockin the duffle pretty hard last w/e at a party.
yo Matt, I've been lookign to get a good Duffle Coat for years.
Can't find anywhere in Sydney to get one though. Let me know if you find some?
actually I vaguely remember seeing some in Myer or somewhere like that the other day thinking - yeah a bit late.
What op shop was it?
if you know small block cafe in lygon st, it was in the block north of that one the same side.
they're back (so you can probably find billabong branded ones) but i reckon they're pretty perennial, you'd probably find them at DJs/Myer/etc and you've got enough gold bullion to leave scoping out bargains to music journos.
I used to have a crappy old one that was a bit too big for me that I got from a vinnies circa 94.
but i left it somewhere when pissed and never got it back.
I've always wanted a better one. but not too nice looking.
I'll let you know if i see any
i'll keep my eyes open luke.
I made a duffle coat about a month ago. It has improved my winter experience and I no longer fear the outside world.
Possession of a duffle coat may be said to resemble deep fried gold.
Amy has an awesomely royal purple one, but it doesn't have a hood
i couldn't wear one, i'd feel about 5 years old
i wore mine last night and was still freezing. maybe i'm not wearing it right.
yr not meant to wear it naked underneath
oh, right.
i am 5 years old.
do five year olds get around naked under their duffle coats? that's one for frig i reckon
just cos i'd feel 5 doesn't mean you have to
please don't ruin this thread any more than i just did.
thanks.
but but but
FILTERFEED!!!
Why are Duffle Coats only for kids?
who said they are?
i wear one arch, i'm not five. i love my duffel.
i said they would make me feel about 5 years old
i have a cream duffel coat with faux-sharktooth buttons that i was slightly obsessed with last winter, but i spilt cranberry juice all over the sleeve and could never be arsed handwashing it out so i don't wear it anymore.
it did make me feel about five, but there's nothing wrong with a bit a reverse paedophilia now and then..
perhaps i'll go looking for one at lunch today.
Sydney CBD - Suggestions?
So, we're coming up to that time again.
I'd love a nice new coat. Anyone seen/bought any good ones?
Anyone know where a fine gentleman could get a fine winter coat? I like those pea coats quite a bit. Happy to spend a bit too.
In Melbourne.
corner of rathdowne street and the street that the dan o'connell is on, princes? i think it's princes st
a mate of mine got a fancy duffle coat there years ago and he's still wearing it. didn't cost that much

Thanks rach & horse - that is only a short stroll from my house so I will check it out.
I wish I hadn't left this costume to the last minute!! I can't find a cheap hooded coat!!
i just got the perfect duffel coat from Picadilly Circus for $129, down from $179. Nice!
I've seen some nice grey ones for women lately. Better than a trench by far.
anyone know were i can get the buttons/hooky bits on these fuckers replaced? one dry clean and they are gone. would a clothing alterations place do it for me?
mine's colour is a dark 'denim' blue. I did want the trad navy blue, but i like this colour as well..
