Im with the mongoloid.
fuckin stoners...
I remember I bought Blues for the red Sun (vinyl copy) before work one day.
Ended getting really stoned at a staff meeting. Stumbled home.
No one was home. Put the record on and played air guitar to the whole thing while getting more and more stoned.
Next I think I chucked on Deep Purple - Made In Japan.
No one came home and busted me in a gunja riff rage.
I got a war inside my head
Its got to set my soul free

I'm putting my hand up for Blues for the Red Sun, but its a toughy. Brant Bjork has to be one of the raddest dudes on the planet...I want the shit the he's been smoking.
no shoes... just thongs. You've been burned by my lighter (but wait get this) and the lighter is held down by my thumb. Fucking lyrical GENIUS
yeah would love that track listing Moisty. Then we can really get down to the business end of things

Former Kyuss singer John Garcia announces tour with Kyuss songs
No need for a long and boring history, just a few names should cover it all: Kyuss, Sloburn, Unida and John’s most recent band Hermano. Plus: side projects with The Crystal Method, Danko Jones and countless others who embraced this great singer from the Southern California desert.
Why?
Kyuss, the inventors of Desert Rock, have been in the last ten years much more popular than when they were still around in the early nineties. So, due to massive public demand over the years to play songs from his old cult band Kyuss,John finally made the decision to give the fans what they want. He will do this unique project with a few hand selected musicians.
Why the fuck not?
The last couple of years John Garcia thought often about reviving his Kyuss-legacy on stage. The more he thought about it, the more he really wanted to do this. John: “I don’t want to do this just for myself, but especially for the fans. Both for the ones that have seen Kyuss live back in the days, and especially for the ones who haven't had that chance. This could be as close as they could get to the real thing. Please bear in mind that this could be a one-off unique opportunity!”
So?
So that being said, the Garcia Plays Kyuss-project (alias GPK) was born. Garcia, accompanied by these fine selection of musicians, Bruno Fevery (guitar), Jacques de Haard (bass) and Rob Snijders (drums), will kick you straight in the face with an all Kyuss set. Pure desert punk it is, nothing more, nothing less...
The legend himself
John Garcia (born in San Manuel, Arizona, September 4, 1970) is a vocalist who has been a member of Kyuss, Slo Burn, Unida and Hermano. His vocals have become synonymous with modern stoner rock and the desert rock sound. While still in high school, Garcia help start Kyuss (originally known as Sons of Kyuss) in 1989 with guitarist Josh Homme. The band produced five albums in total, all of which featured Garcia on vocals.
In October 1995, just three months after releasing what could be argued as their breakthrough album ...And The Circus Leaves Town (thanks to MTV airplay), Kyuss broke up. Their last recording was a 10'' vinyl on the now defunct label Man's Ruin Records, which was later re-released on a split CD with Homme's soon to be famous project Queens of the Stone Age. The band has been on an indefinite hiatus ever since and has reached a legendary status, influencing thousands of new young (rock)bands.

I wonder how Mr Homme feels about all this.
Hmmm, not sure if this is cool or not cool..... After all those denials of reformations because they didn't want to tarnish the legacy.... Hmmm.
Yeah... I don't know if I like the idea of Garcia fronting a Kyuss cover band.
It's a bit sad, but I'd probably still go. Don't think I'll be in Germany in June though...
hmmmmmm.....
Well, he a least hints to the fact that some original members might show up at some dates. Maybe if it goes well in Europe we may see it come over here, and we may see it with Homme & Oliveri or even John Heeder. I'd go, but I wouldn't be expecting big things.

Usually when bands say ''We are getting back together of the fans'', it can often be translated to ''We are getting back together because we are broke and need to pay of our drug debt''.
I thought Axl Rose had a monopoly on the whole 'reform your old band without the actual band' thing...
it wasn't the vocals i loved about Kyuss. it was the vibe.
i think this would blow.
weakest vocal tone ever. Sounded like he was angrily trying to push out a shit. It will blow.
Yeah...either reform Kyuss with the original lineup, or don't bother. It's all about that sound, that groove, those fucking awesome drums.
Which lineup to reform though? There wasn’t a constant bass player & dummer during band’s original lifespan. The absence of Homme seems the major problem here.
oh, jesus.
i always loved his voice on the records, what the fuck else could sit on top of those guitars and be even noticed!?
however, i have a bootleg of when he joined qotsa on stage to sing some kyuss songs, and his voice was royally fucked.
i think this will be horrible.
I don't think I've ever seen a live clip of Kyuss where he actually sings in tune.
Garcia announcing this thing......... I think he needs the dollars
\m/
Looking for a Kyuss ticket. pm me if you got one for Sydney
oh god i must go listen to kyuss immediately but all my housemate has is elitist garage shit.
