So they are playing at NSC on the 18th of April!!!! Fucking awesome!! I'd better be seeing a Brian Cook solo show somewhere and at least one Scorched Earth Policy track in the mix.
You serious? You're making this shit up, canoe boy!
Nada, this ain't no Fairstar the fuckship advertising ploy.. well according the latest NSC mailout anyway "18 Apr The Renderers (NZ)".. whom else could it be??
Well, I'll be blowed! This is red hot news!
I know I know, I've the poker stick on the embers!... i hear the devil calling me
Who's supporting?
No idea.. it should be Hand Hell though! Perhaps we could do Karaoke again!!!.. I'd actually like to know who's bringing them over, or if they have booked it themselves. I'd love to see a Brian or Maryrose solo show happen whilst they're here.
oooooohh, I was just thinking (actually you could possibly hear it from where you're situated) that Linda Dacio would be perrrrrfect!
bumpo!
and now she's drivin all night, looking for the road that leads to his side.. sigh
so I guess nobody else likes NZ country music then..
The Renderers + Hit the Jackpot
18th April at the Prince Albert (Adelaide)
THE RENDERERS (NZ) with special guests
Wednesday 18th April @ Northcote Social Club
Doors open 8.00pm
Tickets: $10 at the door (no presales)
New Zealand band The Renderers have been around since before alt.country existed, forming in 1989 when it was deeply uncool and producing their own brand of it since then in the form of four albums and three singles on various labels, both in NZ and in the US where they have toured twice. They have released albums on Flying Nun, Siltbreeze and 7"s on Drag City and Merge. Will Oldham (Palace Brothers, Bonnie Prince Billy) has covered two of their songs and has also toured with them as his back up band.
Best news ever!
Bumpo.. its a NZ kind of night
its all true, there are other shows too..
Very good to hear!!.. Brian Cook solo?

i can't make tonight fastcanoe. can you put in a cheer or two for me please.
Well seeing as I'll be the only one in the room by the looks of things I might bring some sampled cheering along.
One last lonely bump.
i hope they pull an ok crowd. i'm really sad to be missing this. have fun mister.
Shall do :]
You really owe it to yrselves to witness Into The Void - they played some legendary shows in NZ during the early 90s...
So I've been reading Muddeath, they sound like my kind of outing. Wholeheartedly looking forward to it all.
hmmm
I've never heard of these chaps fasty, but I do like abit of non attending gigs.
either that or watch more of Eddie Murphys 'Raw'
Come down KK, you'll love both of them me thinks. One is drunken countryish meandering wondermusic, the other noisefest funsmack action.
what time as i shall be p.t it. gotta check the met linky thingy
Doors at 8pm it said, first bands myspace didn't appeal to me so I'm guessing:
Into the Void @ 9:30pm
Renderers @ 10:20pm
Am about to head for a tram now.
The original lineup was best - think Black Sabbath meets krautrock / hawkwind...guitarist Jason Greig designed my profile picture which is the cover of the 1st SPUD album - Into the Void were a 'brother ' band to SPUD - SPUD guitarist Matthew heine produced their 1st / only album on Flying Nun..
I've seen the Sabbath comparison floating about, this makes me happy! Awesome work all round, now if only SPUD would do some shows again :]
Dear Mary Rose Cook.. you make us lonely drinker feel perpetually entangled.. thank you xox
Dear Brian... hah, arson, the flames of passion
Such an amazing gig, Into The Void nailed it, Renderers made all and sundry tearful.
Franticly drunken yours,
Fasty.
Tomorrow night, with Chris Smith fuckers. Someone had better turn up this time.
This evening.. Cobra Bar.. good times.
I should go find sleep so I can operate come this hour.
this is very tempting but family is coming to stay. dont quite think taking them to the tote would be ideal
I swear Trail of tears may be the finest late night scotch album ever offered up.
Noticed when I was at the Wunderbar in Lyttleton that the Renderizors (Renderers/Sandoz Lab Technicians) were playing next week. Bah!
The Renderizors cd is fantastic. Shame you missed it.
