Knowing me Knowing you.
The Name of the Game
Knowing Me Knowing You for goodness, Dum Dum Diddle for craptastic-ness
"The Day Before you Came"
Oooh dsico, that one is awesome - I love the lyrics & the sense of impending doom! I'm also a big fan of a little known Abba song called Disillusion.
Still, the structure & the deliberate layering of harmonies in The Name of the Game wins me over every time.
I was just saying on the weekend that there just isn't enough abba around these days.
I'd be interested to know what the M&N crowd, with their significant musical knowledge and appreciation, think of ABBA.... I'm guessing you all think they're shit?
Regardless, i think they great song-writers and I still like much of their music, even after all these years, even though that is probably very daggy
arrival was the first record i ever obsessed over.
i was about 8.
Werd mrslooch.
you all need to be rounded up and shot..... but since I don't want to be resposible for killing you all.. I'm just going to walk around with my hands over you ears next time I see any of you chats
I also love 'the winner takes it all'
specially the verse...
Hated the musical Mama Mia though...
disgrace..that musical.
I fell in love with Agnetha when I was 6.
I wonder if Lordi can possibly reach the heights that Abba reached....
sorry to sound stupid. But I don't know Lordi..or maybe I do but don't remember??
I mean I know I am stupid.
'Does Your Mother Know?' was was a rare highlight for me and the only song i didn't get sick of hearing during a ridiculous number of viewings of Mamma Mia. The Winner Takes it All isn't too bad either.
money money money or SOS. Love the fact that Agnetha ended up marrying her stalker. pure class...
Angelic, Lordi won the last Eurovision song contest.
oh yeah!!
haha that metal band with the costumes..
thanks..
ooh i love them! there was a special on foxtel the other week, i didnt know agnetha married her stalker though!

and lou from neighbours in heroic navel revealing shirt fashion statement as the tour manager.
magnificent.
i saw this on saturday... then.... i had to go dig out my tapes again
it's all about 'the winner takes it all'
I prefer Gabba....
i'd like all abba radio play banned in australia.
Yeah, what the fuck's going on at the moment? Everywhere i go, i'm subjected to Australia's unhinged love affair with this abomination.
This must be the post-Mamma Mia apolcalypse. The seppos have just discovered them.
Kylie and ABBA - together at last
...Kylie will perform her versions of Abba hits Super Trouper and When All Is Said And Done, on which she will be joined by Abba's Benny Andersson
abba the movie is on cable right now. fuck it is a wonder. heaps of early 70's australian roadie action. and lots of interviews with kute aussie kiddies talking about why they love abba. i would love to know where those kids are now.
does anyone know anyone who was one of those kids?
Best Abba song and clip ever... Tiger

...before ABBA even started, Benny was in a big Swedish band in the 60s called the Hepcats...
Hepstars
There's gonna be a big Abba display coming to Melbs, lots of costumes, props, memorabilia etc. I think Paul Dainty has something to do with it. I'm pretty 'out' about my Abba love ('Rock Me') and this could be the thing that'll have to do until they reunite (never happen) and make my pop dreams come true. I did, however, boycott almost all Mama Mia musical-associated business as a travesty (almost all, because an ex who had moved to Toronto was employed as Autralian dialect coach to the Canadian production because his housemate was cast as the lead. I still wouldn't go.)
One of Anna's leotards had gone walkabouts, apparently, and was sold on eBay. The organizers want to track it down and borrow it from the purchaser for the exhibition (rarther than being just viewed while sported by a very pleased Barry on a Mardi-Gras float, or wherever it is now).
Glad they made the Hall Of Fame.
think it starting today at fed square, it said on the ABC radio today
abbaworld
OH.MY.GOD!!!
I'm in Melbs this weekend too...
is someone goes can you please report back if it would still be worth going even if you have no intention of singing & dancing to film clips, etc
Still waiting for that free invite. Seriously.
I keep getting ABBA songs stuck in my head.. yesterday was The Winner Takes it All... Today its Bang a Boomerang??
God ABBA are the shit. Fuck all the haters.
Amazingly you and I agree on something PPT
I love ABBAs guts.
Fave songs (there are so many) include:
Gimme Gimme Gimme
Voulez Vous
SOS
Knowing Me Knowing You
The Winner Takes It All
(When I was a little spud my favourite ABBA song was Nina Pretty Ballerina)
We're not that different, you and I.
Take a Chance On Me FOR THE WIN.
