hyperfuzz  said about 5 years ago:

lordsnot  said about 5 years ago:

shit you're not a friend of siobhans are you?

McGauz  said about 5 years ago:

i went there back in '99... total waste of time.. quit now and go somewhere else (if you're still there). I left after the first year and went and studied photography. Best decision I ever made.

hyperfuzz  said about 5 years ago:

don't think so! didn't really know many people there.

and, yeah, it was a waste of time.

kuvasz  said about 5 years ago:

I am alumni. Graduated in absentia a few years ago. Waste of time also.

gathering storm  said about 5 years ago:

yeah, i went there (bundoora) a couple of years ago and also quit. its a pretty shit campus.

gathering storm  said about 5 years ago:

even my english lecturer told me on the quiet that it was a shit uni haha.

hyperfuzz  said about 5 years ago:

it sure is. only benefit is that i live less than ten minutes away, and i can get a lift there if needed. hooray for laziness.

McGauz  said about 5 years ago:

almost everyone I knew there thought it was a waste of time too. One of our tutors was offended when we said we felt like we'd got absolutely nothing from the class all year that we couldn't have got reading a book "but.. but.. you get all this interaction with your classmates." yeah.. bundle of joy they were..

McGauz  said about 5 years ago:

haha that's hilarious gathering storm.. I wish one of my lecturers confided that in me sooner.

that was the main problem... just a shit campus...

plus it was such an effort to get to for me.. right over the other side of town. 1hr 20min bus ride.. ouch my ass

poprocks96  said about 5 years ago:

i was there 1998-2000

selttiks  said about 5 years ago:

Gorn  said about 5 years ago:

katiepotatie  said about 5 years ago:

gabbo  said about 5 years ago:

selttiks  said about 5 years ago:

Lots of good arts subjects.

precisely why i'm there!

lordsnot  said about 5 years ago:

no. Just type in the same username as what you use to log into a computer in the library

I've been there two years and still haven't worked up the courage to try the curry place.

Curry place is good. Curry dipping sauce and 2 naan for 3.50 or so. kebab shop is good too. kafeene (or whatever its called) has good raspberry and white chocolate muffins. the simpson lawn is great for perving/frisbee in summer. the warm mushrooms are great after eagle bar in cooler months.

on another note i have heard there is tunnels that link up all the buildings and colleges? apparently some great drain exploring action.

Gorn  said about 2 years ago:

Kebab shop does better coffee than caffiene

timewaster  said about 2 years ago:

As Dave O'Neill so wittily said...

La Trobe is Latin for 'I couldn't get into Monash'.

Gorn  said about 2 years ago:

Fuck Monash

grouse frehley  said about 2 years ago:

Was looking at postgrad courses all over Melbs thinking I just needed to fill in a form to graduate with my La Trobe BA( I’d got enough credit points years ago).

Turns out they’ve restructured the degree since then, and I need more credit points.
So now I’ve had to apply to go back (for the third stint in more than 20 years) to get a BA I qualified for years ago.

This is a whole new kind of fucken.

jerkstore  said about 2 years ago:

I'd advise everybody against going to La Trobe. It's a shithole. Shit education, shit lecturers and tutors, shit people, shit food and shitcunts at the faculty office who fuck you up.. all this and it's up shit creek. Fuck that.

Hellzapoppin  said about 2 years ago:

I just applied to attend. Sounds perfect to me!

jerkstore  said about 2 years ago:

Shame. Even VU and ACU seem like better options compared to La Trobe.

Hellzapoppin  said about 2 years ago:

It's the closest. I'm lazy. It's the only hope I have. Though I've applied for RMIT as well.

jerkstore  said about 2 years ago:

I suppose it depends what course you want to do. One that isn't filled with tossers would make the experience a lot better.

Hellzapoppin  said about 2 years ago:

Math should be safe. Should.

jerkstore  said about 2 years ago:

Yes that's probably the safest bet. I wouldn't imagine the people doing that would be shitting around much.

Hellzapoppin  said about 2 years ago:

I could luck out and score fucktards yet. I usually do. We'll see.

moo-core  said about 2 years ago:

I always thought LaTrobe seemed like a pretty cool uni. Apart from being out in the sticks and all, of course.

Hellzapoppin  said about 2 years ago:

I've done most of my external exams there. Very organised and accommodating bunch. 20 min bike ride from Thornbury.

timewaster  said about 2 years ago:

Apparently there's a new skatepark in West Heidelberg, not too far from La Trobe. Haven't been there yet.

What's that old joke about La Trobe? It's Latin for 'Can't get into Monash'.

Dave O' Neill always used to use that joke. He went to La Trobe.

timewaster  said about 2 years ago:

Oh shit, I already wrote that. I should check the threads before I repeat lame jokes.

losgauchos  said about 2 years ago:

I did the last subject of my RMIT postgrad there last summer as they had some sort of exchange. The subject was accounting (a subject I loath) and I missed most classes because of work and it was fckn miles from anywhere and stinking hot, but I got through with 56% and got my degree. Mixed memories of the place, but there was a lot of bush out there.

Too right.
