do you have a link? i have never heard them, but i like the name.
nah, i went looking for some sort of myspace thing the other day to no avail.
umm.. that was helpful!
there used to be a website but i cannae find it anymore. it had some great rambling on it.
Was their last show that mandarin show where they were all drunk? i remember going to that one.
anybody wanna throw in a decent description?
Cool, way to cool for school.
fite
they played (sans toohey) at the peats ridge festival over new years.. but other than that they probably haven't played since that stupid mandarin show.. ahh, good times..
fuck myspace.
this is brilliant news. some gigs in melbourne would be even more brilliant....
keep me updated on when the album is out, tr.
no label sorted yet
haha, likely RB!
the website was awesome! yeah, if anyone remembers back into the dark ages of street press when drum media's rival was somewhat credible and a young anonymite (is that a word?) by the name of "lancelot 2020" had a bloody hilarious column... anyway, to destroy all mystique that was dave cotsios. this is his band. i wish i could find the website too, filterfeed.
it's a hard one, fulton girls club. it sits somewhere between folk and pop, a little bit noisy, and not very "straight ahead" at all.
some vaguely related bands are founder and joe leonard and the family fuse.
occasionally i could hear a touch of big star. maybe neil young but i can't remember a single note at the moment. guess which record i'm listening to tonight?
i remember that name, transient. i also vaguely remember the concept of street press. never read anything much though, just looked at the pictures. except for those times i read that nick heath guys reviews. only to laugh at him though.
cool.
i loved their last album so much.
so varied but so good.
they are always a bit shit live though.
they are amazing, i can't wait for some melbourne action. dreamy is the best word i could use to describe them.
haven't seen nor heard these folks for an age.
browning, who remembers browning? toohey's band circa 2000? they were totally, totally fabulous.
their first album is brilliant, can't wait for the second. did they do it with Tony Dupe (sp?) again, or someone else?
browning were one of the first bands i saw regularly when i first started seeing bands in pubs and that. both releases ignored but both really fucking good.
browning were fantastic!
is there a new kid cornered record too or did i dream that?
no i heard that too TR.
ahah! new kid cornered. excellent. any info?
> browning were one of the first bands i saw regularly when i first started seeing bands in pubs and that. >both releases ignored but both really fucking good.
hear, hear. one of the first bands I saw regularly too. used to love it when they played with bluebottle kiss. when they ripped into 'the heart is a lonely hunter'... [wipes nostalgic tears from her eyes]

you seem excited, luke.
I am! Very excited!
can't listen to anything else this morning..
Pls come to Melbourne.
agreed.
are they even playing around anymore?
i was listening to the debut only yesterday.
amazing album.
Was talking to one of these dudes on Friday, good guy, he gave us a little ''something'' for the road, which was then sucked up in a vaccuum by a bumbling backpacker cleaner, good times.
What?! A show?!!! This is GREAT news!
Melbourne please. Tigers and I would be there for sure.
oui. it would be great to see some of you there.
apparently the last show was may 2009... doesn't time fly?
also mixing of the new woods record starts next week, or soon-ish.
melby! one day hopefully?!
sigh
we share your pain!!
Pops and I will book & promote a melbs show as well as provide accommodation for the band if that helps a melbs trip happen. Mind you, I haven't asked her about this, but I'm sure she'd help.
Still really super awesomely excited about this revelation of activity.
